    New York City

Anybody from New York City that recently got the gastric sleeve wanna be friends. I’m 21 yrs old and need people that I can relate to.
  2. If you deal with depression / anxiety before your surgery how have you been dealing with it since post op. I take Zoloft and lithium for my anxiety / depression but I’ve been off my meds since the doctor said I can only crush them. It’s been about 2-3 weeks since I’ve taken them. How do you motivate yourself to go outside and enjoy life ?

    Flat out wraps

I’ve heard flat out wraps are a great alternative for people is vsg who want to eat something like a sammich or a burrito. But why exactly is it a great alternative. I just wanna know what I should be looking for when shopping for something like wraps to eat.

    Salad

When were you able to eat a salad? I’m about 7 week post op and I’ve lost 31 pounds (yay) so far but since I’m always on the go I feel like eating a salad when I’m out and about and can’t manage to meal prep would be helpful. Let me know your experiences and when you started eating it.

    Salad

I just want to clarify that I’m not talking about just a salad made with lettuce. I mean an arugula salad or a spinach salad. I don’t want to eat lettuce I understand that my surgeon team said no to that.

    Salad

My surgerical team said I can eat veggies except lettuce for now but they said cooked. But I’m wondering about other ones because I don’t get to see them for another 3 months and it’s very hard to reach them on the phone since it’s a hospital in nyc.

    Fast food

I don’t really like fast food and obviously I don’t have a big appetite nor do I want to eat fast food. But just in case I come into that trouble.

    Fast food

If you eat fast food where do you usually go? I recently went to Popeyes and I had just one piece of chicken. I tried my best to rip off the breaded pieces but sometimes I’m on the go and forget my lunch or just didn’t meal prep so I need some food ideas. Btw I’m about to be 6 weeks post op.

    Coffee

What type of coffee do you buy (brand wise) and how do you prepare it. If it’s hot or cold? Do you use a straw? And how long After your sleeve did you start drinking coffee and how many times a week? How many ounces of coffee do you have? I know a lot of questions about coffee but I’m wondering.
  11. I’m Dominican and I’m finding it hard to eat foods. I like Mexican food and your typical rice and bean. I’m one month out so what do you eat for breakfast lunch and dinner??

    Latinos what do you eat

Just in case anyone is wondering you don’t have to be Latino to chime in. As long as you eat Spanish food is fine. I just put Latinos because we don’t eat the things you only see in certain restaurants. Example: Mexicans don’t go to Mexican restaurants for just tacos, they can get a cemita or huaraches.

    Weight loss stall

So my first week after surgery I lost 21 pounds and now I’m almost at a month and I only lost 2 pounds. Any tips on how I can lose weight again. I barely eat and I don’t eat any junk food. I’m still on my purée diet stage.
  14. I am on my 4th week since surgery (gastric sleeve) and I’ve managed to take 3 gulps. No pains or anything. Is that good or bad? Also I broke my liquid diet due to seeing the fact every surgeon tells patients something different. I’m eating soft foods and again I have no pains or anything. Should I be worried? Also what foods should I stay away from? I know rice and such are a big no but what fruits or veggies should I stay clear from??

    Experimenting before dr Allows😳

@EsoKev I don’t remember the exact name of the surgeon. But I since spoke to the surgeons team and the bariatric center and they said the doctor asked me to stay off the medication due to it counteracting with other medications I was given. Also I’m not the only one who has been told it’s generalize. And as you can see other people have the same surgery but can eat 2 days or even a week after surgery. Each doctor has their reason but only you know your body.

    Depression and anxiety

Luckily I’m about to reach my fourth week so I can start taking them again. It was really hard being off them but hopefully I’ll be feeling better. Thank you all for the support

Has anyone tried instead of drinking their protein taking A pill or gummy form of protein. I saw this gummy protein online and I thought about buying it. I take one a day women’s multivitamin in gummy form because the ones my doctors prescribed would Always make me throw up. Has any one tried the one I post a picture down below. If so how was it? Any recommendations?

    Diet After bariatric Surgery

    This is so helpful
  19. My doctor put me on the liquid diet for 4 weeks after my surgery. I’m on week 3 and these dang protein shakes aren’t cutting it. So I cheated and started my purée diet. Has anyone else done this or currently dealing with this. If so what do you eat and do?

    Depression and anxiety

Sadly I go to a hospital for my psych appointments so I have to wait a whole month to see my psychiatrist. But I’ll try adding it into pudding or applesauce.

    Protein intake

So I’ve tried GNC lean shake, protein premium and I hate them. I’m sick and tired of protein shakes!! So I ordered protein premiums water protein. It has 20 grams of protein I believe. Has anyone tried it. Is it any good? And is anyone else having this issue where they just refuse to take the shakes cause your mouth can’t take the taste anymore.

    Experimenting before dr Allows😳

I had my surgery May 30th 2018, and as of today (June 13th 2018) I try eating things here and there like mash potatoes, fruit pop cycles with no added sugar, or fruit mashed. My doctor told me to wait 4 week and stay on the liquid diet but it’s annoying and the protein shakes aren’t doing it for me plus they taste nasty now. I say try to eat purée foods slowly to see if your stomach can handle it. At the end of the day my surgeon told me the instruction are just generalize but some people heal better than others.
