  1. I'm turning 50 July 30th, so this is an early birthday present to myself.
  2. July 3rd in Massachusetts
  3. Hey McKenzie, we're gong in this adventure together (July 3rd). We also have some of the same stats, I was 251 when I started. Luckily, I have support but there are always people out there that want to be Debbie Downers trying to impress their opinions on you. Ignore them!!! You've got this! You're going to be healthier and slimmer very soon. I look at this phase we're about to enter as the catalyze phase. The liquid diet is us building this cocoon around of old bodies. Surgery is as Frustr8 says, the rebirth, and after a beautiful butterfly. Keep strong and Good luck.
  4. That's so cool Ylime!! I love your idea!! Look forward to when I get my gold key flatware in July ?
  5. I love reading your story. Thank you for sharing. You look great in your tank top too.
  6. I'm not having surgery until July 3rd. I'm on two different injections myself. My PCP advised me to not take my Lantus (slow acting) , check my BS often especially if i feel different (high or low coming on) and take Humalog (fast acting) as needed. I would contact your PCP and see what he/she thinks. Wishing you the best and hopefully you can leave diabetes behind you
  7. I was actually planning on going to Red Lobster myself, but the closest one is 2 hours away, so we're going to go to a really nice local restaurant, and this time I'm not going overboard. Learned my lessons the past weekend. Moderation is the key. Sorry about the strep throat you got. Hope it was good soup
  8. Good luck!!! Here's to a speedy recovery.

  10. I had a food funeral today. Allowed myself a little bbq at a restaurant here. What's surprising is I didn't eat much. I'm actually full, because I've been trying to prep myself for my surgery and pre op diet. My husband says he's taking me out for seafood (final food funeral) next weekend and than pre op diet.
  11. Baystate Bariatric Surgery, Springfield, MA. They do have a really good program and work hand in hand with insurance companies. They have support groups before and after.
  12. There are chicken protein shakes from Unjury for those looking for a savory taste versus the sweet.
  13. Hello, I'm new and have a surgery date of July 3rd. Get to see the fireworks from my hospital room.
  14. Hello, I'm a newbie. Started this process Mid December. Been through all the appointments mandated by BCBS. Been using a CPAP for almost three months. Had the H Pyerion disease and treated for 2 weeks on antibiotics. Couldn't take the "Test for Cure" because I'm allergic to citrus acid (Wonder if anyone ever looks at your records?). Finally got all my approvals, submitted to insurance and approval letter in mail May 25. Surgery date for sleeve on July 3rd, and see I have a surgery buddy!! Start my 2 week diet on June 19th, and set of many pre op apportionment. Stated and anxious, but I've got a lot of support, so that helps. Can't wait to get my silver fork on Wednesday at our support group (get it after getting a surgery date. It's a small fork to signify the small bites you're going to have after your surgery.
  15. July 3rd. Springfield, MA. It's getting close :)
