jpginny reacted to Brttnyj89 in How fast can I bounce back?I had surgery on 09/24. I took two weeks off from my desk job. After a week I felt like I could have gone back. I went back to work on 10/8 and on 10/9 I passed out and broke my foot in two places. So please don't rush it and make sure that you drink plenty of fluids.

jpginny reacted to Redmaxx in How fast can I bounce back?My surgeon wanted me off work for two weeks. I was driving after 3 days (wasn't supposed to for two weeks). It will take you a little while to get used to the new "diet", recover from the pain of the surgery and just be able to sit still. You will need to walk, walk and walk. Don't over extend yourself, don't overdo it. Do what your surgeon says, they know what is best for you. Good luck with your upcoming surgery.

I could have done it. I took no time off, but I work from home. I was back to full work travel at week 3 post op. But not everyone has the same easy recovery.

jpginny got a reaction from GreenTealael in How fast can I bounce back?I am having my surgery October 22 and hoping to be back at school ASAP. I’m prenursing! Am I over zealous that I will be back at school so fast? I have a way I can park close and have someone helping with my books. I can probably arrange transportation if I need to. But am I being realistic? -

jpginny got a reaction from MarinaGirl in Swimsuit worriesI did not take it as discouraging at all ladies! I appreciate the hard honest truth!
Did you all work our religiously on your journey? Muscle tone? Does any of that make a difference? -

jpginny reacted to Strivingforbetter in Swimsuit worriesYou're going to rock that swimming suit and make your sister green with envy. Embrace the positive changes that are coming your way. You'll be a much slimmer you and you'll feel more confident. Loose skin is part of the weight loss journey, but that's something that can be addressed at a later time and is much less of an issue than being obese.

jpginny reacted to KimTriesRNY in Swimsuit worriesLoose skin is likely to happen. The more weight you have to lose, and where you carry your weight coupled with genetics will play a role in how much will be there.
In six or seven months, you may not have a terribly large amount. I noticed more of my skin wrinkling up once I lost over 120 pounds.
If you are confident enough to wear a swimsuit now, you will be in April. You will be looking and feeling so much better you will not believe it!
Maybe your sister is jealous of you taking control of your health? Siblings can be strange...

jpginny got a reaction from clsumrall in Swimsuit worriesI just got approved for my surgery. I’m excited and my sister thinks that I will be completely flab and will be totally hideous! But I wonder what everyone does during swimsuit season. I have a family cruise planned for April and will probably have my surgery this October. So am I worrying about nothing? -

I was 332 when I started the preop diet. I’m 4 mons post op, and I’ve lost over 90lbs. The challenges are that it takes awhile for you to really see a difference. I was nearly 80lbs before I started getting compliments. My stomach is holding on for dear life. My legs, arms, and chest went right away.
