  1. My surgery went ok, some problems with my insulin pump and being left in recovery for 10 hours on a gerney!!! My back was KILLING ME!!! Tomorrow I get to start my mush:) I am ok if I am not around food but the second I smell it I FEEL LIKE I COULD EAT LIKE A HORSE!!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY FIRST FILL. I feel great other than my port sight being a little sore.

  3. The hospital just called and my surgery is set for 9:20am tomorrow morning:) I am so excited and ready start this journey. I have two small children and worry that something will go wrong and I won't wake up from surgery!!!!! Anyone else had their banding done @ John Hopkins Bayview in Maryland??
  4. I don't know any of the facts about deaths, ect... I think I read the same thing you read and it has scared me too!! I guess there are always risks with surgery and it is a chance you have to be willing to take...... My surgery is April 22 and I am sooooooo scared but I need this to get me healthy! I am trying to look at all the positives and roll with the punches:) Don't back out, I think it will be worth it.
  5. Hello I have been type one diabetic for 29years. I will be 33 tomorrow and get my surgery April 22:)))) I have been on the pump for 11 years and love it. I am nervous about surgery but sooooo ready to start getting my weight under control. How did you treat your lows in the hospital? That is one of my major concerns that I will get low and not be able to drink or eat enough to come up?!!
  6. Hi My name is Melanie. I live in Elkridge, Md with my husband and 2 boys. I am scheduled to be banded on Tuesday the 22nd! I am so excited but at the same time I am so nervous to have surgery!!!! Can anyone give me any tips on how to stay calm these last 6 days of waiting????
  7. I have United Health Care and they were fast and approved my surgery within 2weeks of my doctor submitting all their requirements. I also have two boys, they will be 3 and 4 in May:)
