  3. Luckily my insurance doesn’t require visits with a nutritionist or any weight loss, it’s just the surgeon that wants me to lose 5% of my weight before surgery.
  4. I finally have my appointment with the nutritionist in a week and a half (haven’t had one since May). I’ve been losing weight like she wants but I’ve been s*#t about logging in my food. I’m kind of tempted to just take a couple hours and make stuff up so she doesn’t get angry at me or push my date further. Anyone else bad at logging food? Does this mess things up?
  5. I had mine a couple of days ago and I must say, it was one of the weirdest things I’ve ever been through (besides being awake during the endoscopy..that was NOT fun). I didn’t think the barium was too horrible, just super thick. I think the hardest part was drinking the fizzy drink and not burping after. And don’t be surprised after you drink the barium when the X-ray tech has you lay on your belly and kind of roll around. It’s done to coat your stomach with the barium but it was totally a “wow I must look stupid” moment XD. Overall, not a horrible process just really weird!

  7. Sorry if this has been asked before. I’m on my pre-op journey with no surgery date in sight yet. I am still going back and forth between the two surgeries and wondering what is best. The surgeon said I could choose either one, but there are so many pros and cons! I’m leaning toward the sleeve but worried about bad acid reflux after and the fact that there’s not really a “dumping” feeling (meaning if I’m not careful I could eat ice cream all day and gain it all back)..but on the other hand recovery is easier with the sleeve...ugh it’s such a hard choice!! Post-op peeps, what did you end up choosing and why?
  8. Hi! I know this is a really old post but I live in Vermont and am in the process of getting sleeved! Did you go to UVM? How did it go?
  9. I’m getting the sleeve done. I know that I will be on the liquid diet two weeks before surgery, but I need to lose 14 lbs before then. I’m just trying to figure out how to eat regular foods within the limitations given by my nutritionist.
  10. Hi all! I haven’t received a date for my surgery yet, but my surgeon wants me to lose 14 pounds (5% of my body weight) before it’s scheduled. I’m supposed to eat a total of 1700 calories in 3-4 meals/day. It’s HARD getting that many calories in only a couple of meals while also eating healthy! Can anyone share your meals you eat in a day before surgery?
  11. Hi! I’m new here and only a couple months into my journey. So far I have been accepted into the local bariatric program, seen the psychologist and was approved, and now I’m meeting the surgeon for the first time tomorrow. Does anyone have any advice/insight/questions I should ask? I really have no idea how it’s going to go and what the steps after will be (most insurances require X amount of months dieting, mine does not). I’m nervous and excited!
