  1. I think but am not sure I sourced Dr Artusso and I'm certain the price was near to that too. The problem is getting over the initial fee. Do you think you could get me Dr Artussos number?
  2. It is with Dory Ferraro. She is in Manhattan also.
  3. I can have a fill in Long Island but they want $350!!!!!! Good Lord! Thats for the initial fill then its 150 after that. I'll only be getting it done the once in the country. How much does she charge? Anna
  4. There are times I'm so hungry then I have my creamed soup and I can only half finish it because its not enjoyable anymore, it gets cold and I can't be bothered trying to get it down it takes so long but by then the hunger pain is gone. I think I will try the creamed oats. Those sugar free ice lollys are the best. My weight is rapidly falling off, thats another 2lbs down since yesterday. 9lb in5 days. Anna
  5. Same here but thats only for a week then on my 7th day I can have scrambled egg or omelette. Anna
  6. my doc said I could have yogurts. Anyway I feel much better today, maybe it was just the wind. I had creamed drained Soup which was heaven and some Jello later. I also had an ice lolly.......oh heaven. Thats all I had all day. I just weighed myself again this morning and thats another 2lb gone since yesterday!!!!! Oh happy days!!! Anna
  7. Ok I won't eat any more yogurts just in case. What about the horrendous pain in my chest even when I do drink clear broth? Anna
  8. Thanks Janet I have been doing that but the hunger pains are so bad. This morning I had a yogurt and I had the worst possible pain you could imagine after it. I ate it slow. I felt sick but when I tried to get sick it was just loud pockets of wind. The yougurt stayed down. I don't understand it. Is this the norm? Anna
  9. I had my band fitted 3 days ago and so far I have lost 5 Ilbs. My tummy is rumbling with the hunger, I hope I can last out for my first fill. Any tips? Anna
  10. When I get my band next week will I always have to have bands for the rest of my life? Anna
  11. My fear is not the op itself and I am quite happy with the statistics that show a teeny weeny minority of patients have died due to complications........my fear is the general anesthetic. Any overweight person having this has a larger risk of not pulling through. Anna
  12. ROFLMAO.....what are you all like!!!!!! Anna
  13. I am having my surgery done next week and I intend to do all the last letters! I went one sad step further. My daughter will be making her first holy communion NEXT YEAR so last weekend I went out and bought her dress and headdress just in case I don't pull through. This coming weekend I'm going out for the last supper with my family. I think everyone feels nervous about the op. Anna
  14. I will be in Yonkers. Has anyone got an idea of the cost? I presume it would be a good idea to bring exrays of the ports location. Anna
  15. I will be in New York March 17th and want a fill done then. Can someone recommend where to have it done. I will be on vacation from Ireland and I want to coincide my vacation with my fill to save me from taking more time off work. Anna
  16. I am looking for a fill in New York in march. Can someone find out how much they charge? I am in Ireland. My surgeon is in France and i will be on vacation to NY in march and it would be great to have a fill done then as it will be 6 weeks after my surgery. Getting time off work is a pain and if I can kill 2 birds with the one stone it would be great. Anna
  17. I will try to cut out the sweet things, I'm more of a savory person anyway so that should be easy enough. If I can cut out bread and butter I'd be happy. Anna
  18. Nykee I find your topic usefull. It allows me to gauge what amount of food I can take. I know we are all different but I just had no idea what amount of food we were talking about after banding. I'm not banded yet but will be in 2 weeks time. Anna
  19. Hi Jess Thank you for your reply. I have every intention of pigging out the night before! Do I at least have to fast from midnight the night before? Anna
  20. I am being banded Feb 7th but am a bit concerned that I don't have to do a pre diet, is this ok? Anna
  21. I envy you hairagain...well done!! I have yet to be banded and I can't wait. 2 weeks from tomorrow I will be on the path to my new life. I've even started to buy " skinny " clothes, well 3 sizes smaller than what I am but it's a start. Anna
  22. I am having my lap band fitted Feb 7th in Paris. When is the first fill required and how often do I need them? Where is the port placed for the fills? Is it noticeable? I am going to New York 6 weeks after my op and it would be ideal to have the fill done there. Does anyone know how much it costs? Insurance in Ireland doesn't cover this so I have to pay for my op and aftercare. Anna
  23. Thank you all for the warm welcome. Yes Ireland is a beautiful place.......really. It is rapidly expanding now and buildings are shooting up everywhere. I am from Dublin but I live in the county next to Dublin called Meath, its very scenic. Anna
  24. You guys are lucky. In Ireland we have to fund it ourselves. Insurance won't cover this kind of thing. In the UK you can get it on the NHS. I am going to France in 2 weeks time and it will cost close on to 5000 EURO. Thats still a good price. Anna
  25. Hello All I am about to start my new lease of life on the 7th of feb in Lyon France. I am not nervous but very excited. I weigh 264 Ibs and 5'6". I need to lean on you all in the coming months and will try to pick your brains as much as possible so please bear with me. I live in Ireland with my hubby and 2 kids. Life is good........but will get better. I am lucky in that I don't suffer health wise YET but I want the lap band to prevent anything happening further down the road. I want to be on this earth as long as possible. Watch this space!!!!! Anna
