Had same thought process as you for quite a while. In the end, I thought about where I'd be, both physically and mentally in 5 years time with or without the surgery...... ...am now 9 days post op and am really glad that I did it! Good luck whatever you decide )
  2. Good luck to you both! Was nervous before my surgery and am 9 days in now. Before you know it you'll be back on here and it will all be over
  3. Hiya Initial consult for me was to check that banding would be the right surgery for me (not the ballon or bypass etc). Surgeon was great and answered all my questions and also advised re: pre op milk diet to shrink my liver. Had my band fitted on April 6th and am pleased that I did it, including 1 week pre op milk diet I have lost 17lbs in 15 days. Feeling pretty tired due to liquid diet for 2 weeks but pain free. Good luck with the consult
  4. Hi Sid, I was banded on April 6th and suffered for first few days with same problem especially when drinking. Best for me is sucking a mint (obviously not swallowing it). It's the only thing that's helped.
  5. Hey Milo Just had my surgery on 6 April and all went well. Including my 1 week pre op milk diet I have lost 17lbs so far. Understand your concerns with being put to sleep but am sure you'll be fine. Is probably safer than crossing the road  Anyway, best of luck, welcome to the journey!!
