  1. Going on 7 weeks out and I'm just making it to 700 a day. Not everyday but 3 out of the last 5. Other days I was just over 300.
  2. Gonna set up an account and check it out. Thanks again for the suggestion!!
  3. Looking into taking Fish Oil/Omega 3 and Gelatin supplements. What do you take? What do you recommend? Have any of you tried krill oil?
  4. Don't drink enough water at one time to make you full. You only be taking sips every few minutes. Agree with Protein2O as well. And I'll be getting some FairLife Milk, havn't tried it yet but the thought of a glass of milk sounds delicious.
  5. Your STARTED with insanity? Brave soul. I'd be afraid to try those if I was in shape. My nephew did them while in collage in the football program and he said they were intense.
  6. Amazing @Diana_in_Philly !!! That is a hell of an inspiring clip. You look great. I was reading the part where you were listing all that you do for workouts and I laughed because I thought of the saying "I don't have time for workouts". It's the exact opposite for you. You must be saying "I don't have time for ......" to a lot of other things. Congrats to you on your success and keep killing it.
  7. I think that's part of the problem. I may have over researched different programs and now don't know which way I want to go. I really don't have an exercise goal other than getting fit and being able to do it. I would rather not just stick with lifting but include more movement in my workout. I think for now starting off I might go with body weight exercises so I can do them at home? But in the months to come as I get more into shape and used to things I'm not sure what to do.
  8. I have no idea what 24 to 4 looks like but it sounds awesome. CONGRATS!!!!
  9. Thanks @Todd_196 Found a couple of apps that looked good when I did a search for that app. I didn't find "My" Fitness Buddy but did find Fitness Buddy. It asks to create a login right away before anything can be done, is that the one? @BigViffer Really not looking to get huge gains or become "strong as I can". I did that when I was young and really not interested in it at this moment, who know if it will change in time. More just looking to get into descent shape. If the look good comes along with it great. I don't think I'll ever get my "suggested" BMI , I'm just not built that way, but prefer to be a smaller me if at all possible. Thanks again gents!!!
  10. I did just that. Everything that came up was local gyms with indoor classes. I think a bit to early out for that type of workout so I'll keep looking. I don't really use FaceBook but maybe I can find something there. Thanks for the suggestion, definitely interested in doing something liking that
  11. "Purpose is the reason you journey. Passion is the fire that lights your way." -Unknown
  12. Looked into Camp Gladiator and it looks great but when I did the search for my area I came up with 0. It doesn't exist in my area but I'll look to see if there are similar programs near me. How far out were you when you started that.
  13. Also lower in Protein and higher in Carbs (5g P and 12g C). I don't think this is a good choice.
  14. Eat what you can, make sure it is high in protein. Two or three tiny bites is fine. It's better than nothing. But you have to try your best to sip all day. Your body may be in starvation mode due to the lack of food/water. Don[t get discouraged or annoyed, just do what you can to follow your program. Call your NUT and let them know what's going on, they will be able to suggest what you should do. Good luck to you, You'll get over this hump.
  15. That sounds terrifying. Sorry your having to experience this and hope you get it resolved. Good Luck!!!
  16. What powder did you use so I know to stay away from it? I only tried vanilla premier but I did not like it at all. I'm not big on sweets though and found it way to sweet with a horrible aftertaste. My son who drinks them for working out loves them though.
  17. Oh no.... Too Late If it's been done so many times with success how is that justified? What about bypass, is that better? Yeah it's still there but......
  18. Oh, I didn't even realize that. Read and it went right over my head.
  19. I tried ground beef in week 4 and It did not sit well at all. It was the 1st time anything made me vomit. I'll wait awhile before I try it again.
  20. That rice was probably the culprit. The tightness is because you either ate to fast or to much. 6 weeks out and I still have issues with this. I eat too fast and I always have that one more bite that sets off the feeling. Hopefully you won't be like me and keep screwing it up, lol. I'll learn one day.
  21. I think that's so cool. Family members going through it together. Congrats to you guys!!!
  22. I feel like a broken record but I'll suggest it again. Try powdered protein shakes. You make them how you want, thick or watery and you can add things to them. I find them not nearly as sweet as the premier shakes even though I only tried one vanilla shake pre surgery. The main one I use is Body Fortress and I buy it at WalMart. It's like $17 for a 2lb container. Also like @Orchids&Dragons suggested, Protein2O drinks are great. 16.9oz towards your water intake and 15g of protein.
  23. I searched gastric sleeve recipes, stage "xx" recipes and bariatric surgery recipes on Pinterest. Trust me, you will get tons of links. Prepare to spend hours there.
  24. Let your body heal. Your belly is healing and your body is holding air from surgery. From what I've read liquids can't stretch your belly because they just pass through. Flatulence is good, it's going to help relieve the gas pains in your belly. Call your surgeon and voice your concerns with them. I'm only repeating what I learned from others here. Either way Congrats on your surgery and best of luck to you sir!!!!
