Today I got a call to schedule.....so quick....I am scheduled for pre op testing and surgery is scheduled for 07/27/18!!!! I am so ready for my life to start over and enjoy life again!!!

  6. Best of luck to you!!!! Praying for an easy surgery and quick speedy recovery!!
  7. Very good advice I am going to get started on that!!! He has to give me a good reason other than what he is giving me. Thanks
  8. Thanks Matt Z!!! I will push the issue or look elsewhere. I was so ready and now I feel defeated but I will continue to use this time to work on my mind, find recipes, and DRINK MORE WATER!!!!
  9. I do have a medical card, I believe the doctor is more concerned about smoking leading to ulcers and causing a problem with my sleeve afterwards and of course there was the mention of "munchies"...needless to say I was distraught!
  10. Good morning group!!! Well first of all I would like to say I enjoy this group and it takes away any second guessing and fear from me. I am depressed because I failed my marijuana test, I use for medicinal purposes instead of taking Norco all the time. I have not smoked since March and still failed my test now I have to wait 60 more days before I can retake the test. I was so hyped up about finally getting the test done and having my paperwork sent off to my insurance for approval that I didn't even think about the possibility of failing the test. So now here I am day 2 of 60 feeling depressed and anxious. Just needed to get that off my chest and I will keep reading posts here and try to stay positive
  11. Glad you didn't listen to the negativity!!! Wishing you a speedy recovery!!
  12. You look amazing!!!! Keep up the good work!!!
  13. Congrats ladies, I still have 2 more doctor visits for the required 6 consecutive by my insurance. i can't wait, then I have to wait for approval from insurance. Happy May to the both of you!!! Can't wait to hear from you after surgery!!
  14. I have yet to be approved for surgery. 2 more visits with my doc but I joined here so that I could see what I have to look forward and get some pointers....but this post....this post made my day!!!! I laughed to tears over the whole thread (my co-worker thinks I am nuts). Thank you for the info and laugh!!! Have a great day everyone!!!
  15. Yes that's what I love, it's like taking a really nice long nap!!
  16. Good morning all!!!! I am prepping for VSG and I wanted to know if anyone here has had the surgery done with twilight anesthesia? I have had both hips and both knees replaced and 3 of them were with twilight anesthesia. I get really nauseated and sick from general anesthesia and I figured that would be painful to say the least after VSG. I find that recovery from twilight anesthesia is much shorter and no sore throat from a tube being inserted in your throat. I plan on talking with my Dr. once I see him again (already had the consult) and hopefully he will concur. Thanks
  17. Wow thank you so much, I am trying to get my mind where it needs to be. I know it will still be hard mentally but I want to be as prepared as I can. Again thanks for the information!! Continued to success to you as well.
  18. Hello everyone!!! I am in the process of getting approved for VSG, I am on my 4th visit with my primary physician. I have had my, consultation, psych evaluation, nicotine test and blood work. I was wondering if it is okay to try a liver shrinking diet plan even before I have a surgery date? It doesn't matter if I am not approved for surgery the first time with my insurance I will continue to submit the request. I have made up my mind that this is what I need and want for me, I know it will be hard and I want to start preparing myself physically and mentally before I even get a surgery date. I am 5'7" and 293 lbs. I am asking because I don't want to do any harm to myself beforehand. Any response is welcomed and appreciated.
