Hi there, was wondering if you heard back from BCBS Fed? I have them also, mine was submitted for approval on 6/19 and I was required to show 2 years of weight history. Were you required to do that as well?

Had final nutrition appt yesterday & met with doctor. Submitting to insurance; anyone know approx time length for BCBS Fed to approve? Doc says I should be able to have surgery in July!!?

Oh we sound similar, I'm 5"2, starting 215 also have RA. Was RA one of your commodities ? I am currently one month from my final nutrition visit. Hoping to get an approval and date next month.

Hello all! Had EGD scope completed and told I have gastritis, hiatal hernia, and a few stomach polyps. It's been close to a couple weeks and haven't heard anything further about it. Anyone have/had these issues and did it stop or delay your surgery? Thanks in advance for your responses!

Wowww. I'm so sorry you're costs are so high. I have BCBS Federal I have not paid ANYTHING out of pocket except $35 co-pay for psych evaluation. I'm on on my second nutrition session and completed everything else. Sleep, EDG, Ultrasound, Barium Swallow, et c and haven't paid anything. I will have to pay $350 for hospital stay and that's it. My friend had a different BCBS, not federal and paid $2800 out of pocket.

Hi, So did you doctor already approve you? I have Fed Blue as well and currently in nutrition courses and waiting to get an approval letter, or simply when I'll get one. Also what does impatient mean? (Sorry if my questions are coherent, a newbie at this) Thanks in advance for your response! Stacy
