Tamisha, Click on my or any other ticker and it will bring you directly to the site to make your own. Once it's made, copy the bb and paste it into your signature under Edit Profile. If you need any more help let me know. :-)

I wasn't required to do the liquid diet before my surgery date. I only had 5 days to prepare and the key was to cut out carbs. I did buy EAS shakes to get ready for post op and had one for breakfast and lunch and a dinner consisting of lean meat and veggies. Hope this helps.
  5. WOW~ luluc, I noticed your amazing weightloss and it's inspiring. How long did it take you to reach your goal and did your surpass it? Thanks!
  6. ok, I'm back on track....drinking shakes and softs only. The thought of my stitches coming out DID IT FOR ME! THANK YOU RESTLESS MONKEY ~ I owe you for the kick in the backside. We all need those every now and again!
  7. FINALLY! Some words I can relate to. I didn't cheat on the liquid diet before hand as I only had 5 days, but I'm only 9 days post op and took a bite of CHEESE TODAY. I could cry. I put a message up and asked for any october bander to join forces with as a support person, but no takers. I don't think this board is working out for me or maybe I should just go to the general forum as I've only been in the smashing pumpkin area.
  8. Hi, I was banded 10/6 on liquid and very little softs. I would love to be a part of a support group on here. Especially when I'm feeling I want to eat my limbs off instead of a liquid shake. I always work better with others, I feel like the lone ranger out here. I'm also getting a little discouraged since others have dropped significantly since surgery and I'm slowly plugging along. I need to shut my gob and move my hiney. Needless to say, if any of you like a pumpkin buddy, SIGN ME UP!

Karen, I was sore in the exact areas! I'm not happy to hear you're feeling this way, but thought I was the lone ranger after reading so many posts about people feeling GREAT! I thought the medical staff may have used me for a punching bag on the operating table. ALAS, 6 days post op, I'm feeling much better. Back is a bit tender, I've been using Ben Gay at night or sleep on a large cold pack. It's heaven. My point being, in a couple days you'll start to feel much better. It passes and we're going to be SKINNY & SMASHING! Hope this helps. Soft {Hug} ...don't wan't to hurt your back :-)

Am curious about the Whey Protein. I was given a list of liquid protein shakes such as Muscle Milk, EAS, etc. I was banded on Monday, 10/6 and ready to eat my arm off today, not to mention have been sleepless the last two nights. Those of you that have tried the Whey Protein does it help your hunger and how is your sleeping. Taste? Also..... Am I the only one hungry? I'm so embarrassed, but I'm simply being honest. THANKS FOR LISTENING! 10 lbs. lost and trying to not eat my limbs.

    Military Smashing Pumpkins?

Anne, I'll keep your DIL in my prayers. I have twins or should say two babes from a set of triplets. I miscarried the triplet in the beginning of my 2nd trimester. They came 12 wks early and although in was a very long haul they are here ~ walking and talking. They will turn 2 on Thanksgiving. Birth weight was 1.2 lbs and 1.14 lbs. Faith will carry you through. If you'd like to send me your DIL's name, I'll pray for her and your grandchild.

    Do we need a Bracelet?

Sorry I can't give you a quick answer, but your doctor's office should be able to tell you.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. :-( I too am struggling with the liquid diet and had my surgery 10/6/08. Hence, it's 1AM and I'm on the computer at lapbandtalk.com while I'm dreaming of a hamburger! One minute at a time!

    Who are you telling?

I'm extremely private so I told my husband and of course the people on this board, but this is such a safe haven from judgement, etc.

    Military Smashing Pumpkins?

My husband has deployed 6 times and although it's never easy ~ the first time seems to be the toughest. If you can handle deployments, you'll certainly be able to handle "less" of you when he returns. How exciting!
  16. I needed a cardiac clearance and needed to stay in the hospital post op a bit longer due to my breathing. Be thankful you have a great doctor that is being so thorough. Getting YOU healthy is most important right now (know that's disappointing), the surgery can come any time. Keep your chin up and have faith. It will all work out! :-)

Here's to be lighter and healtherier! Raising my Protein Shake to you. Proud to be a Smashing Pumpkin. Coming here helps me get through the day! Thanks to all.
