Did you have to do 6 visits or 7? I am 3 months into mine with my primary doctor

Has anyone else had jealous or unsupportive friends when you’ve told them about your plans for weight loss surgery? My very best friend was actually mad at me because we are going on a cruise in August (surgery is May or June). She’s trying to lose weight and doesn’t qualify for surgery so I think that’s the underlying issue. I have stopped talking to her about my surgery because I don’t want to hear her negativity.

I had this very same fear. The approval and surgeon go by your starting weight at the initial consultation!!!

I also have Anthem, question...is it 6 visits or 7 that they require? I first saw my primary 2 weeks before my surgical consult because I knew the requirement and wanted a jump start. He’s been so supportive!

Thanks! My journey started a little differently. My gyno referred me to the bariatric clinic when I saw her in October and I was at my highest weight, 230. I have pcos and went off birth control for two months...instant 15 lbs. I called my insurance before my consult and found out about the 6 months. I made an appointment with my primary 2 weeks before the consult in November and have been seeing him every month since.

I have anthem bcbs and I’m in month 3 of mwm. I got my psych clearance on monday! I am curious if the mwm is 6 visits or 6 months (7 visits). Can’t seem to find much detail
