  1. Thank you. That is helpful advice. I’m going back to sipping every 15 minutes today. I was running around with my kids yesterday, so I was hungry by the time I did sit down to drink.
  2. I’m a week out and down 10 lbs. down, which I’m thrilled about. I’m finding, though, that I have the room for several sips of a Premier At one time. My doctor recommended one small plastic hospital cup (maybe an ounce or less?) every 15 minutes. Is this typical? Of course, I’m afraid the surgery got screwed up somehow and it didn’t work.
  3. LOL I get it. I feel so well that I almost forgot and almost took a bite of pizza tonight. Didn’t, thank goodness. Hang in there!!
  4. Thanks. I really like the premier shakes too. They are too yummy!!
  5. It is pretty gross. And to make matters worse, I added protein powder to it for the first two days. Learned my lesson.
  6. I’m from NJ but I just had the sleeve done in Dallas by Dr Dirk Rodriguez. Glad to answer any questions.
  7. Pretty darned sick of watered down Gatorade (surgeon instructions) and premier shakes, but I’ll take it.
  8. I saw my surgeon today and all is well. He explained why I’m having pain when I swallow. It’s because the fluids are moving from a larger opening and into the tiny stomach opening. It’ll pass. I’m down 7 pounds. Mostly water weight, but I’ll take it!
  9. Thanks. I’m seeing my surgeon tomorrow. I have a list of questions for him, like this pain.
  10. Thanks. Yeah. I’m walking regularly. So much so that I went To to a museum here in Dallas today...
  11. Hi everyone. I had surgery on Monday. I had so much pain from the gas, I thought it would never end. Now it’s two days later and I have chest pain when I swallow and stomach pain/soreness when I get out of bed. I been following liquid and protein intake instructions. I’m seeing MD tomorrow. Might it just be heartburn?
  12. Well, I had surgery yesterday. Gotta tellnyou, the post survey has pain was at least as bad as labor! Doing much better today. I’m finding, though, that my tummy can accommodate more than I expected it to. I’m having water down soup as recommended by my surgeon, and if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve been told to sip, I be done by now...I cannot have gone through this for nothing...!
  13. Hi. Could you share some sample meal plans? Thanks!
  14. Well, I leave for Dallas tomorrow for a 7am surgery. I’m so excited!!!
  15. Thanks for checking in! I decided to travel from NY to Dallas as self pay. It will cost $11,200. I have no co-morbidities, so trying to get insurance to cover it was futile. I’m so excited!!!
  16. Alas. No insurance coverage, so going the self pay route. Surgery is Monday!!!
  17. Flinstones? How did you decide on them?
  18. I will ask my surgeon as well, but what vitamins do you take? Brand? Bariatric? Gummy? thanks!
  19. Thanks again for all of your encouragement to get back on that horse. Had a better day today than yesterday. Had a shakenin the am. Grilled chicken for lunch and grilled octopus with brocoli for dinner. My surgeon doesn’t require any particular pre-op diet.
  20. Ok. So yesterday was a bad day. I went to my favorite middle easter restaurant and I had a full plate of sautéed spinach, chickpea salad and a piece of sweet potato and spinach casserole (just veg, no cheese or cream). I guess it wasn’t the worst thing ingredient wise, but it certainly pushed me over my calorie limit for the day. Thank you all for your stern words. I will make today a better day.
