  1. I just received my approval from my insurance and my surgery date to go from a Sleeve to Gastric Bypass due to my Acid Reflux. Has anyone had the procedure done due to Reflux as well? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I got my sleeve done in December 2017, and I have never had heartburn/GERD in my life before this. But now, I literally cant eat anything AT ALL. I have thrown up stomach acid a few times, and I have had to sleep sitting up countless times. I had to get an emergency scope two weeks ago, I did the barium swallow as well. ITS BAD.
  3. To be honest, I was going to just deal with it but then I did research and found out that constant reflux can lead to some REALLY bad things long term... so that along with the discomfort is enough for me to try and get the revision. But I think I would have to wait a lot longer since I am so fresh out of surgery. And to be honest, I don't want to go through the process again if I don't have to. I am really happy with my results and my weight loss.
  4. I actually have not, I spoke with my surgeon a couple of weeks back and he said that my reflux is really bad and he suggested at me getting a revision as well. I haven't started the process with insurance or anything but I know that the meds I've been prescribed aren't keeping the reflux away. It calms it sometimes but most of the time I just have to struggle with it. I love my results from surgery though and this is one of my only downsides but I literally have never dealt with Acid Reflux before this.
  5. I have taken so many meds for my reflux, I am currently close to 4 months post op and I am having some severe episodes...this past weekend it woke me up out of my sleep. I have taken: Antacids chewables and liquids Omeprazole Carafate Liquids and pills Zantac Famotidine Nothing is helping.
  6. I’m 11 weeks post op and although my doctor cleared me for more solid foods. Things are going down really rough, (so I’m basically sticking with really runny eggs, soups, and protein shakes). Has anyone dealt with this as well? At what point does it get better? I’m not in a huge rush to eat, I’m pretty content with my meals now But Any help would be great.

    Food goes down rough

Yeah I don’t drink anything for 30 mins after I eat (or at least attempt to eat). I get my 64 oz of fluids in and 60grams of protein. I’ve never considered the temperature part though.

  10. Hello everyone, My name is Ernest and I have a question/concern about my post op weight loss. I got my sleeve done on 12/20/2017 and in the first week I dropped about 20 lbs or so, and now it seems like I am not losing any more weight. I don't expect to drop all of my weight in less than two weeks but I want to make sure that I am doing everything correctly, I make sure to get my liquids and protein in, I take my vitamins and meds and I do my walking. Anyone else experience this?
