  1. I just had surgery yesterday; everything went smoothly according to my surgeon. Today I'm trying to eat some liquids and with every sip is pain, and if I burp it's excruciating. Is this normal? I'm scared.
  2. Yoga, Pilates. I try to make an effort for my posture, even now, pre-op. I use this exercise to help me: imagine there is a string that goes through your body, up through the top of your head. Now pull the string up-- bring your chin up, elongate your neck. If you suck in your tummy a little, it will help you to keep the posture. Practice being mindful of it and eventually it comes naturally.
  3. I have lost the weight on my own before, and I felt like it was the "easy way out." Going through this process, I learned it really isn't an easy decision at all, takes a lot of time, commitment, and dedication. There's nothing lazy or easy about it. That's how I feel now, anyway. I also worry about how others would judge me. I realize now I owe no one an explanation on my choices and if they don't like it, tough. My life, my body, my decision. Luckily my husband and best friend have been very supportive.
  4. I'm having surgery next week. I got some unflavored protein powders, Bariatric Advantage chewable vitamins, vitamin patches and comfy clothes for the days after surgery. Plus a few gift cards for new clothes when I need them.
