    Secret sleevers?!

Secretly sleeved here! Only my boyfriend knows and he has been all the support I would ever need! I chose not to tell any friends or family bc I didn’t want to hear any negative comments, my mother’s hysterics about having surgery or the overflow of advice on how to lose weight the “right” way. As far as anyone knows I have adapted a new healthy lifestyle (not diet) which is 100% true! I’ve changed the way I eat, am more conscious of my hunger signals and am on an exercise plan. That is a much as anyone needs to know. we shouldn’t feel ashamed for having the courage to make changes in our life but unfortunately that is how much society sees these surgeries. This is far from the easy way out. It’s takes hard work, constant monitoring and dedication to do what we have done. Don’t let anyone make u feel any other way. 💪🏻

4.5 Months – Eating Too Much?

I have read so many discussions on this very thing and the only thing left to say is that everyone is different post surgery and has a different experience. I feel I get hungry more that I should but honestly doubt that my stomach has stretched. Some days Im starving and some days I’m not. I have to remember to eat slowly, eat my protein first and basically use all the tools we were given. I’m guilty of boredom eating and have made a few mistakes here and there. The important thing is to remember to use all the tools we have been given and that no one will have the same experience as you. The video @jenn1 posted is great! I saw it when she posted it on another discussion and it helped me refocus. Clearly this is something that continues to up so thanks Jenn1 for the reminder. @ToughButFair Just hang in there. We are still at the beginning of our journey. ☺️

    ~December 2017 Sleevers~Updates

Hi December Kids! I started this journey at 268, sleeved at 255 and am now 226. My loss has been very slow but steady as I approach the 3 month mark. I am feeling meh about it. I had one of those iron stomachs that tolerated anything and other than the amount of food I can ingest, I have had no issues with anything... Not sure if that is a good thing? The only thing I have to look out for is the amount of food bc I do feel it if I eat too much. I try to do 3-5 small meals a day ... protein protein protein. I’ve given up most carbs but every now and then I “indulge” when it can’t be helped. My work keeps me traveling so I eat out a lot. I had my first alcoholic beverage two weeks ago... ate dinner prior to the drink and sipped slowly. I had two more drinks on different days in the following week. I ate a few bites of desert and a nibble of chocolate. I also get scared that I’m eating too normal as aimee jones said. I eat protein first and sometimes am still not full. So 30 mins later I try to fill up a on water. Eventually we are supposed to be able to eat more than a few ounces though I didn’t expect to be able to so soon and that worries me. I actually don’t have an end goal weight so I’m just going one day at a time. Sorry.. no point to this post ... just talking. Would love to continue chatting up December kids though!

Able to eat more than I should

Thank you for the link to that post. I am on week two of my stall (sleeved 12/19/17) and also feel like I am able to eat more that I should. I have been on the brink of spiraling and going back to old habits of calorie restriction etc. But that post help me reel myself back in.

    Feeling sad

Hi! I was sleeved 12-19. We can be buddies! I also felt a bit blue right after surgery; all the changes right before the holiday was a bit much but I survived. I am feeling better now so I can tell you to hang in there. I too have my ups and down so I need to tell myself to hang in there as well. 😬

    The Stall

I was sleeved on Dec 19th and am entering my 4th week. However I think I have hit the infamous “stall”. I barely lost a pound this week (lost 2 lbs last week) and am disheartened. I have been following my diet and even under eating bc I can’t drink all the fluids and protein shakes as directed. I’ve been exercising everyday and have full energy. I know it’s something that happens but any suggestions to help jumpstart will be welcome!

    The Stall

Being told all my life to cut down on calories in order to lose weight makes it so hard to process that now I have to eat more calories to lose weight. Maybe they should offer a lobotomy to go with the sleeve. I find that I’m drinking water all day and because it takes me so long to eat, It feels like I’m also eating all day. So I get nervous that I’m eating to much. I’m keeping a food journal so I can see what I’m eating. I know everyone is different but what are your eating schedules if any. Here is mine: 8:30 - soft boiled egg, 1/4 c cream of wheat ( 1/2 hour to eat then I have my coffe about 1/2 after) 10:30 - protein shake (1hour to drink) 1:00 - 2oz Deli Turkey, 1tbsp cooked veggies 3:00 - protein shake (right when I come back from the gym) 5:00 - 2 oz meat, 1/4 c cooked veggies (depends on what meat and veggie I make for dinner but I generally eat the same thing) 7:30/8:00 - homemade oatmeal protein muffin (no flour-recipe found on Pinterest) all the while I’m not drinking water until 1/2 after I eat but I do drink up until I eat. Phew!

Need to pass gas - just home

Congratulations! I’m day 3 post op and the best advice I can offer is to get up and walk around. It has helped with the gas and bloating. Also TMI, still waiting on a BM. Started taking Myrolax this morning. Hopefully that will get things moving.

    3 Days Post Op

I’m also post-op day 3. I feel like I’m drinking fluids all the time. It takes me a while to get down the ounces. Plus still have gas pain. Walking around has definitely helped.
