I decided to get weight loss surgery in September. My surgery date is 12/29. in 2018 Hoping to reach my weight loss goal, be more active, do a 5k and go on a very nice long vacation.

My surgery is 12/29. I only have to do the liquid diet for 7 days. Not looking forward to it. The struggle is going to be over Christmas.

I was actually wondering the same thing, but i didn't want to offend. Im really concerned about sagging skin. Thats AWESOME!! Going to the gym will be a struggle for me as well. I work 2 jobs, i feel like there is no time.

I had my consultation on October 12th, EGD on Nov 1st, Insurance approved Nov 20th and my surgery is scheduled for Dec 29th. So about 2 1/2 months. I would have had it sooner but my first EGD they found an ulcer, so i had to do a repeat on Dec 2nd. And it was gone so i was able to schedule my surgery!!

I'm in a very similar situation. I am to start my liquid diet on the 22nd which so happens to be the day of our work Christmas potluck. But im stuck to clear liquids. Looks like Chicken broth for me!

I just joined yesterday. I'm pre op, my surgery is set for Dec 29th. Only 2 more weeks. Im very excited. My 7 day liquid diet starts on the 21st which im nervous about since it will be over Christmas.

Dec 29th surgery date here! Cant wait :). Nervousness hasn't set in yet!

I feel honesty is the best policy. If he really likes and cares for you, he shouldn't care about your weight and be supportive that you took a route to take care of your self. Like @FluffyChix said, go with your gut and do what you think you should do.

I was very hesitant to let people know i was getting the surgery as well. I only let a very few people know when i was in the process of getting insurance approved, and my EGD and all that done. I wanted to at least wait til i had my surgery date scheduled. I guess my reasoning was more I dont like people in my business and i HATE when people ask 21 questions lol. But you should do whatever makes you feel comfortable. Most people think its the "easy" way out to loose weight, but its a lot more work in my opinion. Your diet it a VERY restricted and you have to recover and basically change your life. Your bf has your best interest, but if you dont care what other think i say shout it to the world!

I like the premier protein shakes. They make me feel full and they don't taste half bad.

I think mine took about 10 days. I received a letter in the mail. It was a Friday afternoon. I called my doctors office the following Monday and they had gotten it too. I was anxious about getting mine quickly as well. I needed to get my surgery scheduled by the end of the year. Good Luck and I hope you get your approval soon!
