  1. I'm feeling a little happy right now. At the risk of sounding braggy, I'll be brief Dropped another 3lbs since Monday.. (298) It might seem too early to be so happy about weight loss. But for a good 14 years, no matter how strict a diet, I couldn't get below that 300 mark But it's exciting because I know I will look back at these photos in a year, a year and a half and think, "I can't believe I did it" June: When I rejoined the YMCA -365 pounds Nov 27, 2017 I began my preop diet : 344 pounds Dec 11, 2017. Day of VSG surgery : 321 pounds Today: 295 pounds See me in a year
  2. so if you do weight training, you don't think I'll gain from it? Because that is my worry. Like, how can I lose weight and lift weights to avoid skin hanging as much as possible if "muscle weighs more than fat" Does what I'm saying make sense? I've been wondering but no one seems to understand what I'm talking about lol IF I lose weight bc I am only eating 700 calories a day, right? but Im also lifting weights to build muscle, and muscle weighs more than fat, the scale would essentially stay the same, because im stuck. The pounds ( or fat) im losing by being on such a low calorie diet would be offset by the weight im adding by weight training. Make sense? What is the solution ? Keep weight training or wait until i get normal size and THEN weight train?
  3. You are so lucky. It was 3 weeks (1 week more than the two weeks in my book) before I was okay'd to go swimming Also, I couldndt' lift over 15 pounds for like 6 weeks. It was terrible the restrictions I had.. But Im so happy for you. God has really blessed you in all this. Yay
  4. You're fixing to hit a stall, if you haven't already. I can't say this emphatically as everyone is different, but this is my hunch. I hope I'm wrong, bc it sucks prayers for your success
  5. That's great. I wish you lived closer. I weight train, or have begun again I should say. Same reason, 6 month mark. Question.. I had a trainer tell me I should wait to get down to my ideal weight (and then do weight training) which I mean, kinda makes sense because if I am weight training while trying to lose weight, I won't see that big a diff on the scale bc of pounds going down from fat is refilled by pounds from muscle, which weighs more. I don't know the answer so I asked and that is what I got. Then another trainer at the Y where I work out said, for me to do lightest weights and more reps to burn fat, and do highest weights , less reps to bulk up, which would not be the option I'd choose, it would be option 1.. Your thoughts (and Im only asking cause you seem to know man healthy gym stuff" lol I am super proud of you.. Wonderful
  6. Shut up, really? That many calories and you're losing? How many pounds a week are you losing? 1, 2 or 3? Go boy!
  7. Tim, can you eat that stuff now, surely not. Not this soon after surgery?
  8. Holy Moly. I just looked at your stats. What weight were you surgery day? Your day of surgery was one day before mine. Have you lost 118.3 pounds since your surgery date. If so, shoot me Lol That is awesome When were you 406 pounds?
  9. oh sweetie pie, pls stop. You did NOTHING wrong. I was insecure and am still unsure if this is "too much" and wanted YOUR opinions. My weight machine broke so I am guestimating simply by picture models.. so pls.. you don't need to drink STFU juice lol You're adorable. I am so excited for you. When is your surgery? I am Joanna pls, you did not come off rude or offending, okay?
  10. I eat 3 meals a day like this No more protein drinks and not 4-5 mini meals like they suggest 3 of these meals
  11. It's about 180 calories! But thank you Maybe you're right. Anyone else? Anyone else?
  12. This was a bigger lunch I had the other day. 6 weeks post op VSG I missed breakfast, so that wasn't good. But this is a general lunch /dinner for me The food portions are 2oz beans 3 oz chicken breast 1 teaspoon humus 1 teaspoon picante sauce 1/4 of a pita pocket (I decided to not eat any more break, even 1/4) until the tail end of my weight loss).. Carbs can be an award, when I've lost the bulk of my weight It looks like a lot of food, but it's really not
  13. Bless your heart. I wish I knew an answer They told us in our preop instructions, not to shave on our stomach or near the incision site. I thought that was weird for them to say that ( I don't shave my stomach, I'm a woman ) but now, reading your post, I understand why. Bless your heart. I'm sorry, ask the doctor what cream will help
  14. Thank you so so much guys. We're in this together Fam!
  15. Today January 22, 2018 First time in 16 years being under 300 pounds; Memory! The nurse tried to get the scale number of 299 with my face in it. She did a dern good job! lol Not my most flattering angle. My arm looks about 50 pounds, when it's only about 30 LOL but I was trying to lean back so the weight could be seen.. Oh well Thanks, you guys, or should I say, VSG Family ? :*
