  4. I as well have blue Cross through Texas. They required 3 months of supervised weight loss through my provider, to see a psychiatrist with testing ( it was crazy easy), see dietician, pre-op Bariatric support class. Sent from my XT1650 using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. My surgeon said to use wellesse calcium liquid. 2 tablespoon twice a day Sent from my XT1650 using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. They will not give you pain medicine before or after? My advice, call the surgeons nurse and find out for sure.... I'll be having a gastric bypass in December, I was told a PCA pump will be available for immediate post op then pain medications when I'm discharged. You can also find someone who's been through the surgery at that location and get their feedback. God bless. Sent from my XT1650 using BariatricPal mobile app
  7. My surgeon said that it can develop due to the hormone changes. Since I struggle with depression, anxiety and PTSD, I was told therapy would be good afterwards in addition to medication can be made available if needed. He said it's not permanent, but can develop. Keep your chin up, remember you'll get through this. God loves you! You're in my prayers. Sent from my XT1650 using BariatricPal mobile app
  8. Hi there. My surgeon and dietician both said no carbonated drinks. Of course I was like you and said why? They both said because it will cause bloating as it's a gas, in turn it will cause swelling of the pouch, causing pain and fullness. Hope this helps. I'm avoiding them all together. There is powder packs you can buy similar to Crystal light, but has flavors like the sodas squirt, root beer, orange crush, strawberry. I've had them and I like them. 19. Depends on what insurance you have and which type of bariatric surgery you choose. I have friend where the only thing he had to do was lose some weight in 3 months, no other visits with specialist. Sent from my XT1650 using BariatricPal mobile app
  20. Hi there, I'm in my pre-op stages. I'm also a nurse. If you're having a fever with the aches, need to contact your doctor. I can go through a list of questions to try and point you in the right direction of what it "may" be, but it'll take awhile. As for the anti-inflammatory teas or any other herbal anti-inflammatory products, I'd suggest to stay clear from them. Just because it's a herbal supplement, it's still an anti-inflammatory. This can cause complications with surgery. Sent from my XT1650 using BariatricPal mobile app
  21. This has been a long process for me as it has been for everyone else. It's a journey when I started I really thought it would take forever before I even heard the word surgery scheduled. I started out at my heaviest weight being 256 I'm now down to 237. I'm anxious about how I will handle the pre-op diet of liquid for 2 weeks. Can anyone give me advice, recipes are great too? Sent from my XT1650 using BariatricPal mobile app
