    Reached my first milestone today!

I weighted 330 lbs on surgery day (October 2nd 2017), and after some complications with GERD, 3 months later I weight in 258, which was my weight in the first grade of junior high school 6 years ago AND my first milestone! I also found out that i turn into an adrenaline monster when playing basketball which was the first time i played after 6 years!!! I haven't been happier in my entire life and finally got the chance to get back into basketball after all this time, but this isn't the end and i have a long way to go still. And i am not going to stop. I just wanted to share my experience and progress, in an effort to encourage others as well if possible! Lastly i want to thank everyone on this forum for helping and encouraging ME until now!
  2. Hello, first of all sorry if this is the wrong forum, i got my OP 2nd of november. According to my doctor the surgery went great, zero bleeding and i felt great. Fast forward 11 days, i finally leave the hospital, still on pureed foods for the 1st month. Everything going smoothly i eat normally with no problems. Protein was fine(mostly, just the flavor was awful), water was fine, but i was feeling dehydrated during sleep. Ten days ago, i started feeling weird in my throat (really big vomit tensions), but i was fine. A day after that i started having intense heartburn and a mouth full of stomach acid. My one month appointment is in 2 days, but these 8 days have been hell for me. My doctor put me on omeprazole but it had 0 effect. So he gave me esomeprazole (Nexium), and today when i took the pill, in seconds i almost vomited (it came in my mouth!), but i felt better. I started my daily diet as instructed, starting with a cup of milk. Which instantly made me almost sick... heartburn came back and my mouth is still full of acid. EVEN AS I WAS TYPING THIS, i got hit by an intense vomit tension, but i held it... NOTE: I AM REALLY scared of throwing up, and all this is worrying me At this point i take for granted i developed GERD, but the question is, did any of you sleevers have any similar incidents, and did it go away, i just want to hear someone elses opinion on this, because i'm really scared to have to deal with this for the rest of my life,

    1 Month POST-OP, did i develop GERD???

I have trouble finding my doctor (since he WON'T pick up any call) And even in my one month appointment he just said, "that's normal, take nexium 40mg. Before i even managed to say that nexium almost caused me to vomit, he moved on... Until now i am very disappointed in the way he behaves... Even my NUT doesn't like him.

    ACID Reflux/ GERD

That's perfect, if you also have trouble getting water in, i found out that ice tea (0 sugar, 0 calories) is great and can help a lot. Water is almost intolerable for me...

I got sleeved at 18 as well, about a month ago. Maybe it was to early, but i am willing to live my whole life as i want, rather than reliving my school days! GO FOR IT with 0 REGRETS! Sent from my LG-D605 using BariatricPal mobile app

    ACID Reflux/ GERD

I am sorry to hear that you have developed GERD post-op. I did as well and my last week has been hell... I didn't have hernia pre op and the PPIs my doc put me on didn't work( with the exception of nexium, which i almost vommited out right after i took it) Do you feel your throat full of mucus/stomach acid an heartburn? If so it might as well be GERD, but there plenty of diseases linked to the esophagus/stomach. Go to a gastro, they will help. Sent from my LG-D605 using BariatricPal mobile app

What is your favorite part of weight loss?

Being able to walk in a clothing store, and choose WHATEVER i want! Without asking if there is a bigger size.
  9. Hello everyone, i am 5 days post-op and my doc told me to start drinking water. 1,5litres of water... I drink slowly, but even then i do feel somewhat weird, and i need to drink so much more in a single day... Just wanted to ask, how did you guys handle your 1st day drinking water post-op? And how much did your doctor tell you to drink? Thanks in advance! [emoji6]
