NWWLS Support Group?
I'm getting banded by Dr. Michaelson @ NWWLS, on 4/17, so you'll soon be seeing me at the support groups (most likely the evening ones).

Pre-surgery diets... what does YOUR doc require?
My doctor wanted me to lose 10lbs in the 7 days prior to my surgery, and put me on diet of 4 Medifast shakes (I chose chocolate after the nurse said they're the best/least vile) and 1 Lean Cuisine/Healthy Choice/Weight Watchers meal, or something equivalent to 450 calories. They also said that I could buy the EAS shakes from the grocery store, so I picked up a 4-pack of vanilla, for variety's sake. No offense if you're a fan, but ICK! I'll need to find someone to pawn those off on. I've actually grown to enjoy the chocolate Medifast to some degree. I have one more day of that before my surgery, and according to my scale at home, I've already lost about 16lbs. I'll take it. Or leave it. You know what I mean.

April Running-Weight Totals!
Oh. Um... I knew that. (Eesh. Between having two kids and running on fewer calories these days, it's a miracle I'm even functioning as much as I am. Heh.) Thanks!

Getting to Know You questions
Hi everyone, I'm 29, married, living in Seattle, Washington, am mom to two children (4yrs & 9mos), and am currently staying at home to care for them. Oh, and no pets right now... aside from my daughter's sea monkeys and a few lingering under-the-bed dust bunnies. My surgery is schedule for 4/17 @ NWWLS in Everett, WA with Dr. Michaelson. So ready for this next chapter to begin!

April Running-Weight Totals!
Since start of my pre-op diet on 4/10, I've lost 15lbs. * On another note, anyone wanna help me get my signature file working? I feel like a completely dolt here, and usually don't have this much trouble with such things. But I can't, for the life of me, get my tickerfactory ticker to show up as an image vs the raw html. Help?

My Turn - Thursday April 17th
I'm currently scheduled for banding on Thursday April 17th - less than two days to go! They called and rescheduled my surgery from its original time of 8:30am, and I now have to leave the house around 5am to get there in time for my 6am check-in. Kind of brutal, since I have two small children to get in gear as well, but I'm willing to do what it takes to see that things stay on track. Since getting a surgery date, I've gone through the whole range of emotions, but seem to have finally settled on excitement and eagerness. I've been doing my pre-op diet of 4 Medifast shakes and a Lean Cuisine (though it's been more like 2-3 shakes a day) for about a week now, and I've already lost 15lbs! I may just go into this surgery having met one of my goals (of being under 300). I've been reading the LBT forums for a little while now, and am so glad I found this place. Such an amazingly supportive group of diverse people, with a wealth of information to share. Anyway, I'm a rambler and could probably go on and on here, but I'll just wish everyone the best of luck on their journeys. Take care! Highest = 330 / Starting = 315 / Current = 300 / Goal = 150

Lap Band vs. Realize Band?
I'm glad you asked this, because I've been wanting people's opinions on the same thing. I signed up for a trial account on RealizeMySuccess.net, so I could poke around and see how much I'd benefit from their forums. My surgery is scheduled for 4/17 and my last pre-op appointment is in two days, and I'm still trying to decide which band to go with.

Pre-Op and can Hardly Wait!
I'm getting banded on April 17th, so we're surgery date buddies. I'm a mom to an almost four-year-old and a nine-month-old, so I can certainly relate to wanting to get healthy for yourself, but also to make sure you're there for your child(ren) as long as possible. Best of luck to you!

Greetings from Washington State!!
Just joined today and am reading up on some posts while I have a few minutes (those are few and far between with a 9-month-old and 4-year-old to chase after). I'm in Seattle, WA and will be getting banded on 4/17 by Dr. Michaelson @ NWWLS. I almost chose Dr. Montgomery (mainly due to scheduling/availability), but Dr. Michaelson spoke at the seminar I attended, and a friend who had the surgery was banded by him as well, so I basically just went with what I knew. But I've heard nothing but good things about all of the surgeons there, and the staff has all been really great. I've been through the psych evaluation, nurse consult, surgical consult, and have the pre-op scheduled for the 11th and start on my (10lb) Medifast weightloss at that time, too. I'm, admittedly, "indulging" a bit in some of my favorite meals right now, though, since I know it will be some time (if ever again) that I'll be able to eat any of them. That said, the idea of missing out on those things is definitely nothing compare to remaining this weight and missing out on time spent with my family. Anyway, I look forward to reading more from everyone here, and especially those who are in the area. Best of luck to all of you!
