  1. When was your surgery? Cream of broccoli sounds amazing.
  2. I just got out of the hospital today and am reflecting on what you guys are going through! It gets easier as time goes along and the only time I really have pain right now is if I lay on my stomach or use my abs. It will hurt the first time you drink and that is NORMAL. I almost freaked out and my doc said no it’s your sleeve waking up. If you have any questions I’ll be happy to answer any of them
  3. I also gained 10 lbs within my 6 months of visits but I lost it all before the meeting with the surgeon and was fine [emoji5]
  4. I have BCBS MN, and they told me at the beginning as long as I am the same weight or less on the final meeting then you’ll be fine. If you gain weight before your surgery they said it could get postponed but I think that’s only if you gain weight on the pre op diet.
  5. Hi guys! I got sleeved yesterday and the pain is starting to subside. I’m on painkillers right now am able to drink liquids. If I drink too fast my stomach hurts. I’ve also been able to sleep on my side! Has Anyone else tried that?
  6. If she’s lactose intolerant you can always try muscle milk. Those are lactose free.
  7. Minnesota here. Just got sleeves yesterday! On my way home right now!
  8. Oh good, I felt like I was the only one. Do you also have to wait a second to feel a gurgle to know it’s going down right?
  9. For any of you guys did it hurt to drink water a day after surgery? I just got my sleeve done yesterday and feel like it hurts when I drink!m? Is this normal! Plus I sleep on my stomach and side and was wondering you for sleep if you only were on your back! Thanks!
  10. My surgery is at 2:55pm ! When you guys can, please update me on how you're feeling! I'm starting to get nervous!
  11. For my insurance as long as you weighed the same as the first appointment with the dietitian or less, you will be fine. It's different for every insurance company. I know that my surgeon said that if you gained weight by your surgery date they will post pone it, but i made sure I had all the weight i had gained (which was 4 lbs) off before my meeting with the surgeon! So you should be fine, put your mind to work this last month! You got this! I did gain 15 lbs total within the 6 months of dietitian visits but within the last 1.5 months I was able to get it all off and then some! If you got any questions let me know
  12. Only 2 days to go!! So psyched and starting to get nervous!
  13. Thank you so much. You made me feel so much better!
  14. Thank you so much for your input!! I’m only 23 and your last question opened my eyes. I have a BMI if 41 but my doctor says I am on the low scale of most of the people she sees. And she says since I’m young the sleeve will benefit me because it doesn’t have as many risks. I think I’ll do the sleeve because Im young and can bounce back fairly quick!
  15. Hi, I'm on day 7/14 of my pre-op liquid diet and things are going fine, wide awake and over the cravings etc. I've been reading a lot about the sleeve not being as successful as the RNY and it makes me rethink my choice. I am pretty dead set on having the sleeve because I don't want them rerouting my intestine. I've seen a decent amount of people upset because they are not happy with their sleeve because they are not losing as much as they thought. I guess i'm just worried it wont meet me expectations after reading all of that. I like going to the gym and the only problem I had before was portion control. So I feel like overall I could be successful. I guess I just want your guy's opinion! Sorry if this doesn't make sense!
  16. I am on day 7/14 and i cheated on day 2. I haven't cheated sense. After the 2 day detox period and you finding what satisfies you for the moment will be where its at! I was raging the first during the 2 day detox period. It does get easier as you go. Just power through! you wont regret it!
  17. I have my surgery the 28th too! this liquid diet is fine, just make sure you drink the protein shake when you start to feel hungry, it makes the hunger feeling go away!
  18. I had my pre op education class this morning and they said we were not allowed to take pepto bismol for upset stomach because of something in it. I dont remember what they said, but they also said they would send us home with a script. Hope you feel better!
  19. I submitted my paperwork for approval on 11/28/17 and heard back December 5th, and scheduled my surgery for December 28th! Barely made it into 2017.
  20. Lucky! I am on day 2 of 14 and it's a struggle. Day by day it gets better though
  21. Maybe I will get one, but i'm vegetarian so I really don't have to worry about the meat problem! Do you know how expensive they are?
  22. Thank you for your encouragement! You're starting weight is about where I started as well. Your post made me feel so much better because you're about the same height as i am! You're really inspiring.!
