  3. Stephyanders, I've only noticed one person getting "snippy" and it isn't Wilkie94585. Wilkie94585, it is my opinion that if you still have room for a fill and you're not losing weight, you should get one. Just because some foods get stuck doesn't mean that the pouch is holding back as much as it should of "easier" foods. Of course, all of the typical advice about no liquid calories, sweets and all that still applies too. I know this, unfortunately, from experience. I think I needed a shrink more than I needed a lapband. I am 11 years out and my band is max filled. I only wish I could get another fill.
  4. Eleven years out and I still have it when I get gassy in the stomach. Heat and moving around (walking, exercise) help the most.
  5. While his practice is fairly new, Dr. Schlesinger is a VERY experienced surgeon. Check him out on obesityhelp.com . I used to work as Dr. Schlesinger's Medical Assistant at Barix Clinics of Arizona. I have the highest regard for Dr. Schlesinger. He is very professional, campassionate, and knowledgable. However, I am a Lap Band patient (from another surgeon prior to knowing Dr. S.) and I do NOT recommend the Lap Band surgery. If you are going to go through everything you WILL go through, including misery and cost, I suggest going all the way and having Roux en Y Gastric Bypass. Dr. Schlesinger is an expert at that surgery and you will have much greater long term success. Just my two cents. Anyway, I hope to someday have a revision/conversion to RNY and I will choose Dr. Schlesinger. Good luck! Toni:thumbup:
