When will I get approval
You can call your insurance company and ask. I have been doing that because my surgeons office claim they were going to send the paper work over week before last then last week and they still have yet to receive it. So my surgeons office is playing with my emotions. I would call your insurance company they will be glad to tell you.

Dec 7th surgery scheduled, 2 week pre-op to start on Thanksgiving!!! UGH
Thank you so much for the advice. I was thinking one day and being it was the first one it may not be such a big deal. And maybe I could start it a few days early just so that that would be the only food for two weeks and a few days.

Surgery on December 5th
Hi ya'll! I am having surgery Dec 7th and also have some support. My boyfriend and kids don't think I need it but are there for me because I have made this decision. If you need another person to help support you I am here as well!! I am in Maryland!! Good Luck! And just know your doing this for you and hopefully you will get up and going and not need the help you think you may need.

yes my surgeon requires a two week liquid diet and the lower carb meal does sound like a great option. I have been through one Thanksgiving on low carb. I think I can last through another. And your right it will be a really huge test.

I am looking forward to gaining my tool on Dec 7th but to start my pre-op on Thanksgiving I feel is kinda wrong. Do you think the surgeon will let me slide on that day and start the next?

December Sleevers??
@Imamami05, My first appointment with the surgeon was May 30th. My insurance (UHC) has required a 6 month supervised diet, one nutritionist appointment, and one psych. My 6th appointment is 10/20 and then in Nov I will have my pre op appointment. If all things go well with the insurance company. I also changed insurance companies in July from Aetna to UHC and their requirements were the same. I am so glad the 6 months are finally over. It was long as well as to fly by if you know what I mean. Good luck!!! After all I have been reading I know it is worth the wait. I can't wait for my tool so I can start this journey of someone I never thought I would see. Me being small!!!! I have not loss much weight maybe a few pounds during my supervised weightloss. But I know my surgeon will do great!

UHC Maryland
Can anyone tell me how hard it is to get approved with UHC in Maryland? I know I have to do one visit to dietitian, one visit to psych, and also going to the surgeon once a month.
