  1. I actually bought it a couple weeks ago and have really enjoyed it. I have not used the dvd with it - I just do my own thing while watching tv and have a lot of fun this last week - made a fun fast paced/dance playlist for the ipod and do basically dance while using it in the upside down manner (rocking) - makes my legs BURN!!! Will eventually have to try the dvd though - to learn more things to do with it if nothing else.

  4. San Diego Mom - I also wanted to tell you - I did the exact same thing when I went to hawaii - I should have had a fill before but wanted to enjoy fruit while I was there. So I went and I had more fruit and fish than I have probably had in a year  I also had dessert every night and I enjoyed every bite - But I also woke up before sunrise every day and walked 4-6 miles. It is about balance - ENJOY it and when you come back enjoy the help your fill will give you (which is exactly what I did)

Yesterday: B: 4 oz greek yogurt, 1 spoon strawberry jam, 1 oz protein cereal and 1/4 c. blueberries L: 1/2 c. creamy bolognese whole wheat pasta dish S: unfortunately I had some chocolate - several pieces dove (even worse - ate blindly over time not sure how much ?5) D: 1 cheesy scrambled egg
  7. I should own stock in Fage plain nonfat yogurt as much as i use it - I love it. on its own (mixed with splenda or a spoonful of jam) with granola, Protein Cereal and/ or fruit. I put it in Protein shakes for more of a smoothie. I use it in place of sour cream for anything. I also add it to many Soups to make them creamier, thicker and get a protein boost. I get mine at several of the local grocery stores but my favorite place is whole foods - no surprise they have the best selection of brands, fat varieties, flavors and sizes but it was a surprise that they are actually cheaper than my grocery stores for this item. They also have the fage nonfat plain (my favorite ) in the single sups and 3 larger sizes all the way up to a 52 oz container (greek yogurt also has a longer shelf life) - I've had the 52 oz container open for a week without problem - great for my Breakfast every morning and then I've made several pureed soups this week that ive added it to.
  8. That sounds soooo good! - Think I might have to use seasoned rice wine vinegar and add some juliened red bell pepper and sugar snap peas. THink you just helped plan my menu this weekend! thanks!!
  9. I can't wait - hope its good - I love napa cabbage slaw (especially with a little oriental vinagrette!!) - never thought of it warm though.

TODAY: B: 1/3 c. cream of wheat w/ pb & maple syrup S & L: well let's just say it is St Patty's day and I took these meals in liquid form - I then started feeling like I really needed something to help absorb said liquid and was with friends at a burger joint - shockingly they had NO band friendly food especially for someone who just had a fill so I unfortunately had a couple nachos - fortunately they stayed down D: thinking I'll just have either soup or a protein shake
  17. I just took a ff jello chocolate pudding cup mixed in a 1/2 tsp expresso powder and topped it with a little lite cool whip - tasty!
  18. So I had a fill this am - yeah (although honestly wasn't sure if I truly needed it - or if I just needed to have a little more discipline - the NP still recommended it though based on eating habits - so I didn't argue - after my anniversary next month I'm sure I won't be going as often any more and will have the chance to work on it then. B: 1/3 c. plain nonfat greek yogurt L: 1 c. roasted red pepper Soup w/ parmesan shreds D: 2/3 c. butternut squash white bean chili, pureed with monterey jack shreds S: might have some ff pudding later w/ dollop of cool whip
  19. You could frost your 'cupcake' with the mashed potatoes - would be a fun twist on reality.
  20. Shelly - hang in there, I am so sorry you have gone through such difficulty. I couldn't agree more with Jack. That concept was my biggest downfall even before banding - I was never really one to gorge and eat a table full of food - i would continue to eat someting else when I was no longer full. It's still a mental fight as to why I am about to put food into my mouth. Hang in there!
  21. i've heard daily plate is good - I also use nutrition data.com
  22. Update on my post - so I didn't have the tortellini for lunch - I normally wouldn't care about updating you all but I had to let you know what I did have - I made these spinach bars (I created a thread under the food & nutrition section with the recipe) They were so good - I actually had 2 of the 20 serving size for my lunch (about 3" square total) probably could have easily had less but I am pretty open and they were very good - I included the nutrition data and it is not bad
  23. SPINACH BARS makes a 9x13 pan full - could easily scale down but I was taking it to a meeting and I like to use up packages. Ingredients: 1 3/4 c. eggbeaters or 7 large eggs (nutr. data is for beaters) 1/2 c. skim milk 1.5 c. ff plain greek yogurt 1 .5 tsp salt 2 tsp minced fresh garlic 1.5 tsp baking powder 1 c. whole wheat flour pinch red pepper flakes 10 oz pkg fresh baby spinach leaves 8 oz pkg shredded part skim mozzarella 7 oz pkg lite feta cheese, diced 1 onion, diced optional: 1 c. chopped mushrooms or red pepper (roasted or fresh) DIRECTIONS: Preheat oven to 350 degrees or 375 if using an air filled pan. Mix spinach, cheeses, onion and any of the optional ingredients in a large bowl. In a separate large bowl whisk all the other ingredients, pour over spinach mixture and mix well. Pour into a 9x13" pan greased with Pam. Bake for about 40-45" (top should look dry and the edges just beginning to brown. Serve warm - tastes so good a cross between a crustless quiche and a meatless strata. Like many quiches it would probably taste good cold - just haven't had the opportunity to try it that way yet. Depending on how you cut it here is the nutrition data: 20 servings (5x4) / 16 servings (4x4) / 15 servings (3x5) Servings: 20, 16, 15 Calories: 91, 114, 121.5 Protein (gm): 11, 13.3, 14.2 Fat: 3.4, 4.2, 4.5 Fiber 1, 1.3, 1.5 Picture below is a 16 serving size square
  24. mslittle - you're very sweet, I have always loved to cook - part of my initial eating problem but now its fun for me to create band friendly delicious bites. tonight it will be back to work (24 hr+ night) so an extra meal day in addition tomorrow should be interesting b/c I will probably only get about 3-3.5 hr sleep (usually happens once a month or so ) I have 3 meetings during the day and work tomorrow night  hard to work nights in a day world ) so I usually have an extra snack (something crunchy and with Protein to give me energy) Plan for the Day: B: chocolate cheesecake Protein shake L: Couple cheese tortellini tossed in a creamy marinara and peas S: probably all bran crackers w/ lite laughing cow cheese D1: Roasted red pepper Soup w/ couple bites chicken sausage and grated parmessan D2: Plain nonfat greek yogurt w/ berries and 1 ozprotein Cereal S: not sure - something will come to me when I'm packing it up
  25. Today: well had to reschedule dinner w/ friends - so don't have to worry about wanting chips and mojitos tonight :crying: (although my dessert makes up for it) B: 1 cheesy scrambled egg w/ a couple bites chicken sausage, sm handful all bran crackers L: chocolate malt protein shake S: sm. piece white cake, punch and part of a bbq chicken rollup (part of a reception in my honor) D: 2.5 oz grilled/glazed chilean sea bass, 2 asparagus spears, 1/3 biscuit sadly I will probably have a sm piece cheesecake (that will only leave 1 sm piece left)
