  9. So Good Friday was my 1 yr anniversary - how fitting. 91 lbs lost! So let's review a couple points: If I could go back in time would I choose to not have the surgery? - Not on your life!!!!!!!! best decision I might have ever made (only thing that comes close was following my parents advise to buy my house when I was 23) Have I had any Complications? - No - I wouldn't say any complications. I had to have 1/2 an un-fill a week after I got a fill a couple months ago b/c I was too tight - No big deal. - I have had a problem with recurrent fungal infections under my stomach - not pretty, smells worse - but not totally unexpected and just part of the process. Do I have ANY regrets? - Not in regards to having the surgery - but I do wish I had started exercising earlier on and still did it with more regularity. I also wish I had not gotten a fill every month (it's what the Dr's office said was ok - and I'm sure it's fine in practice) I just think if I had gotten a fill less regularly I might have had to force myself to work more on self control/discipline. What happened that I wasn't expecting? - I don't think I have ever spent so much money on clothes in 1 years time between work and play - it's crazy (and this was with having had some clothes in some of those smaller sizes from a previous wt. loss attempt a couple years ago) My next drop in size will put me into a size I have never been in adulthood - have never bought it (SO EXCITING but OMG! I'm broke!!!!) What do I need to work on here on out? - EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE!!!!!! - I still need to watch what I eat - I'm good about getting protein in and keeping my meals small - I just know that I snack way too much and on very unhealthy food at times - ok to do I'm just doing it too often! (for example there is way too much easter candy in my kitchen! - Find a clothes delivery truck stocked w/ 14/16 clothes and turn on the charm! :w00t:

  11. So I had my 1 yr appt. today (couple days late) and got a sm. fill. Excited and nervous - looking forward to the challenge of having to be more self-regulating and careful in watching what I eat to keep up the wt. loss while not getting a fill every month. TODAY: B: mocha Protein shake L: 3 oz plain ff greek yogurt w/ 1/2 mango, pureed S: 0.6 oz piece of brie D: 2/3 c. white bean chili w/ cheese, pureed S: might have some chocolate pudding later if I'm up for a while
  12. Hey Sandiego Mom - sorry about your discomfort - have been there. Don't know if its irritation or a little piece stuck - when it happened to me I was better the next day but I have been seeing info on papaya enzyme (supposed to really help if its a 'stuck' issue) - papaya is the worlds natural most strong tenderizer - helps break things down. (all good things come from Hawaii - right? if it's irritation - treat like was suggested above - (think post fill diet for 1-2 days) If still not better - talk to your Dr - Hope you feel better soon!
  13. WELCOME TWEETY! Yesterday: B: couple bites chicken salad (made w/ smoked chicken and dried cranberries :blushing:) and a scoop of ice cream  S: couple bites of a donut - did not feel good going down L: 1/2 c. smoked chicken salad w/ wheat thins, reeses egg S,D,S: grazed on more chicken salad, smoked salmon spread w/ carrots, pretzels, chips and m&m's.
  14. it's not a traditional oven fried chicken - wasn't real sure what to call it - it's a dream dinners meal that I modified. basically dipped small boneless/skinless breasts (really good if you let marinate for 1-2 hours in a sauce of warmed butter, olive oil (only need 1-2 tbls each of fats), lots of garlic, worscheshire, liquid smoke, dijon, white wine, cayenne, paprika and salt - then dip into crushed french fried onions and pat onto both sides. bake at 350 fro 20-22"
  15. WELCOME BACK SAN DIEGO MOM!!!! - Sounds like you had a great time - hope you feel rejuvinated! TODAY: (one of my long days) B: 5.8 oz plain nonfat greek yogurt, w/ 1 spoon strawberry jam, 0.5 oz protein cereal, 1/4 c. blueberries S: 1/3 sm. cinnamon roll - did not feel great, 1 oz diced pepperoni L: about 1/3 c. pizza rustica (italian-quiche-like meal) D1: 1/2 boneless skinless chicken breast, oven fried w/ 1/4 c. mashed potatoes D2: let's just start the head shaking - cheese popcorn and some peanut butter m&m's - was only going to have some as a snack - ended up eating too much so it was my meal S: 0.5 oz beef jerky ok - so not only am I going to do a sugar-fast next week - but I need some fruit/veggie-splurging!!!
  16. TODAY: B: cheese and crackers - not great but quick on the go L: 3/4 c. tortilla soup w/ cheese, marshmellow treat S: snackwells cookie pack - 1/2 came back up D: not sure how much (ate out)- ginger basil chicken w/ some noodles and crispy tofu S: 1 sm scoop chocolate ice cream which has been an unfortunate trend lately I have had too many sweet treats today - think I need to do a sugar fast (don't think I'll do it right before I go back to work for the week but maybe starting monday) I also need to go back to having some protein shakes.
  17. TODAY: B: 1/3 serving cream of wheat made w/ milk, w/ pb & maple syrup mixed in S: pepper cheese & chips L: 2 shrimp wontons D: eggs benedict - (my way) - used 3 small roasted artichoke bottoms, topped w/ a little of my smoked salmon spread, topped by mostly egg white scramble and then some hollandaise (the splurge) - but w/o the bacon and biscuit - don't feel too bad! S: pb marshmellow treat and a scoop of gelato
  18. luluc - love the picture - was thinking that the sloppy joe mixture would be a good filling for a ravioli  especially with a blue cheese sauce! (maybe you and I should collaborate an a ravioli cookbook) my efforts to start better today failed - wasn't hungry for breakfast (should have made myself have something) L- tried 1/2 c. broccoli cheese soup - didnt stay down for some reason - tried 1/2 a protein bar later - same problem. s- but of course the cheetos and chocolate bunny I ate later when I was starving while teaching some classes went down fine. d- dont know yet certainly not hungry now, need to eat out of my freezer though - don't know if I've ever had so many small containers in it. s- going to a late night espresso & gelatto gathering w/ friends
  19. Slim-n-tn - I can second that x 2 days!!!! I am going to try to be good tomorrow but I am going to a shower and out to dinner with friends.
  20. I also like to make mine but do buy out of convenience several times - there are several that I like but my absolute favorite and preference is SABRA - it has the smoothest texture (which of course does up the fat a little but its good fat)
  21. Have been Mia for a couple days - crazy busy at work - will post today's eating later (just started my day couple hours ago) Slim-n-tn - I love edamame too - my favorite way to eat them - I fill a pot with about 3" water and make it very salty (tastes like sea water), bring it to a boil dump in a bag of frozen edamame (unshelled) and bring it back to the point where its just about to start boiling again - and turn it off, drain and enjoy - I eat them hot and cold - just hold the pod up to my mouth and squish out/suck out the the beans from inside - so good! sometimes I also add a little garlic to the water. GREAT SNACK with good protein. I like to use the shelled ones - its kind of like eating pistachios - you work to get the goodness from inside! :smile2:
  22. Slim-n-tn - I don't think your a dangerous cyber-stalker - it should be ok Hopefully you'll enjoy some of the food!
  23. Luluc - I can't wait for the recipes! food porn is very dangerous and highly addictive - I love it!
  24. Although I have always fully subscribed to the idea of the healing powers of ice cream - How can one argue with all that ice cold protein, dairy, calcium and comfort food goodness?!!!
  25. Luluc - I'm so sorry to hear about your foot - take care of yourself!
