  1. Hello there, thank you for your answer. I am very happy to hear all these great responses. I will take things one day at a time, but I am glad to hear you were able to work from home when you returned. Also that you didn't need narcotic pain meds after a few days. I am glad about that. Again, Thanks for the encouragement, glad to hear you are doing so well. I am excited and can't wait to change my life. Looking forward to running in the park next summer with my boys and taking charge of my health. But most importantly, I don't want my daughter to see an unhealthy mom as her role model. By time she's one I will hopefully not only look more healthy but live a healthier life. My whole family is of normal weight except me. It's time for me to change my life. Yaaaay.
  2. Ahhh ok I see. Perhaps I should work a half day on the fifth day and go from there. Glad to know the pains not as bad. I just have to make sure my husband is home with me and the kids are at Grandmas. I will try and work half day the Friday after surgery.
  3. Thank you and good luck, hopefully they approve you much quicker. And I know what you mean about the weight. Been trying to get sleeved for a year now. But getting pregnant 2 weeks before last surgery, losing insurance early this year...Was approved by blue cross then lost insurance and got Aetna. The wait has been maddening. Hope it's must shorter for you. Good luck.
  4. Oh also i had hypertensive disorder of pregnancy. Wasn't on meds but they were monitoring my bp. That's why they moved my csection which was planned for a week later than my actual section date. Question though...do you think I need more time off work? If I work from home? I saw that you need 2 weeks minimum but surely I would think less if I work from home on my computer. I am getting some help with the kids. I should be fine right? I will ask my doctor. Scheduled for pre op August 24.
  5. Thanks so much. Because I left the hospital the day after my section, this last section was brutal for me. I would have stayed all 4 days if my insurance didn't term on April 30/ May 1. I am glad to hear, I can at least expect something similar to my sections. Thanks so much for your response.
  6. Oh thanks so much for your response. That's comforting to hear. With regards to my last csection in April, I left the hospital because my insurance coverage ended on the last day in April when my daughter was born. My husband lost his job in April and so I had to have my section planned in April at 39 weeks. Coverage ended May 1. Wasn't sure if the insurance would still cover all 4 days because when I asked they told me they would only cover the day of the section, April 30. My biggest fear with the sleeve is needing more help than my section. With my section I was able to work from home three days on my laptop after surgery, the pain was insane but I forced myself on Motrin and powered through. I am worried with the sleeve I will need more time off. I am taking 4 days off wrk.
  7. I have had two csection and most recent one in April. I am scheduled to have sleeve on September 8. My csection recovery was brutal, due to leaving the hospital the next day after surgery and recovering at home. I had gas pains, difficulty walking, weakness and the pain from my scar, nerves constipation. Is getting sleeved that much worse? Been reading these side effects and post op posts and I am a bit petrified.
  8. Wow wow amazing results. I am having sleeve sept 8th. I have 140 pounds to my goal. I am hoping to be as successful as you guys. Great motivation.
  9. Hi everyone. I too am in the MD area, Annapolis. I am having my surgery with Dr. Brebbia in Washington DC. Scheduled in early September. How is everyone doing? I am very nervous but I have been waiting to have this gastric sleeve now for a while. Looking forward to it.
  10. Hello I am a newbie, just joined scheduled for gastric sleeve sept 8 17. I have Aetna, it took a month and half for me however, I was already approved with my previous insurance but we lost that insurance in April. We got insurance in June and I resubmitted the information for Aetna.
