  1. I started my pre op diet Sunday and since then I've been having very bad leg cramps, almost Charlie horses but not as painful. It's at night when I may stretch my legs muscles are seizing up. I don't think I'm dehydrated because I'm drinking well over 100 oz of water a day. Has this happened to anyone else?
  2. I have a lap band and was not successful with it. I'm having a revision to bypass in 10 days. At your weight I wouldn't recommended either. I'm pretty sure a surgeon will feel the same and recommend the sleeve or bypass. By the way the lap band is not temporary. From what my surgeon says they can be hard to take out.
  3. 10 days till the big day for me. Starving on this diet but I've lost 12 lbs since Sunday! I had my final group meeting about eating after surgery and vitamins. Final pre op clearance next week!
  4. Dr Richard Follwell in Stuart FL where do you live? Food is the same for me. I'm definitely a food addict and it's always been my "high" my friend just had surgery a few months ago and she ate so Much food before surgery and said now she doesn't have the desire, I hope it's the same for me! One positive I've lost 9 lbs in 3 days lol
  5. Hi! I'm in Florida as well! Good luck on the diet, I'm also on mine. My surgery is November 6th. No advise though I'm on say 3 and very very grumpy and hungry lol [emoji23]
  6. Just curious what everyone's pre op diet consists of. I'm on day 2 of my 14 day pre op and it is rough! I know it's all worth it though [emoji846] Here's mine: Day 14-8 Morning : Protein Shake Afternoon : Protein Shake Dinner: 3 oz of very lean meat with one cup cooked vegetable Also may have: 1 low fat cheese stick 1 light, non fat yogurt6oz 1 packet of Quaker Oats Weight Control oatmeal 3 oz of fresh fruit Unlimited RAW vegetables Day 7-2 Protein shakes for Breakfast, Lunch and dinner Also may have: 1 low fat cheese stick 1 6 oz yogurt 3 oz fresh fruit Unlimited RAW vegetables Day before surgery Liquid Diet no red jello or liquids
  7. Thanks ! I've emailed my nutritionist to ask about the chicken soup. Hoping it's. Yes because that may help break up the "shake" ever meal and to have something warm ?‍♀️
  8. Having surgery on November 6th and I've bought Premier Protein for my pre op diet but was wondering if their are any better tasting ones?
  9. I was 23 when I had my lap band done and was a lot healthier then. Now my A1C1 is a little high and I just feel crappy physically. I'm so ready to have energy and be able to get on the floor to play. I had originally tried for the RNY back then but my insurance would only approve the band, I've never felt successful with it. But this time theirs no other choice. How have you been on your pre op diet ?
  10. She's definitely showing signs of Alzheimer's [emoji22] my grandpa had it as did everyone on his side of the family. She's only 62 so it's scary. I try not to take what she says personal but some things she says is very hurtful. She also has very bad diabetes and I think that's done something to her brain as well. All the more reason for myself to get healthy now so I don't have diabetes later.
  11. I think she thinks I should of said she can take care of the kids lol but I told her if anything happens to me and my husband we have talked it over and want my older step daughter to raise them. Boom to her lol
  12. I had trouble conceiving my first two pregnancies and lost weight to become pregnant actually with my first baby I had the lap band placed 12/26/06 and became pregnant 6/2007 So be prepared you can become very fertile after weight loss surgery. I then lost 60 lbs for my second but it took us a year to conceive her. My last and final baby was a surprise and I was at my highest weight. Now that I'm done having babies I'm going to finally focus on getting healthy for good. Good luck on your surgery!!! I know you will do great!!
  13. Thank you! Yeah as my Mother says she has no filter... But my husband , Dad and other family is supportive so that's good. I'm very anxious about the recovery because I have small kids a 1 year old and 3 year old home all day . So hoping It all goes smoothly lol
  14. Just wanted to tell you I was approved for my revision! My oldest step daughter is going to take some personal days off to help me with my girls. I think everything is going to work out!
  15. Just received notification my insurance has approved my revision from band to RNY! I'm so excited and nervous! I called my mother to tell her I was approved and she says to me, who do you want to take care of the kids if you die? That sure made me depressed! But I'm going to stay positive that I will be fine[emoji4] not long now till November 6th!!
  16. I'm in FL as well! My tentative date is November 6th [emoji846] I've eaten a few things I shouldn't have recently as well lol
  17. I'm also hoping to have a lap band revision to gastric bypass this November. Did you have trouble getting it approved by your insurance ?
  18. I'm suppose to have surgery November 6th. But worried I'm not even going to be approved. My insurance wants proof I was compliant with my band follow up and when I went to call my surgeon that did the prior surgery they were so rude and said they didn't have records from that long ago, and then put me on hold and said it takes 5-7 days! I've had two pregnancies in the span of 3 years so I didn't have work out during that time(per doctors orders) and I'm scared they will say I haven't made enough effort to loose weight with the band over the past 11 years. Has me so depressed
  19. Navy Mom to two sailors. You look great! Hope I'm as successful [emoji4]
  20. That's good your Mom is able to help. My Mom's health is very bad and she can't pick up the baby [emoji64] so somehow have to figure out how to get help for two weeks since I won't be able to lift her. But as long as I get the surgery I know I can make every thing else work out
  21. I had BCBs when I had my band put in and now I have Cigna. The BCBS was my plan but the Cigna is my husbands policy. I don't think they can say I was ever successful with the band I'm probably about 35 lbs heavier then when I had my band placed
  22. Hope that's it. They seem to think I should get approved it's just nerve racking. I have to plan child care for my two girls (1) and (3) and work around my husbands work schedule
  23. I'm in the same boat but I had my band done in 2007. I was never very successful and after having three babies , finally going to put myself first and have he RNY November 7th. When I met with my surgeon he asked if I throw up a lot and I did almost every meal so he removed the fluid and I've been struggling to keep the weight off first few days I gained 7 lbs! Do you mind if I ask what insurance you have ? I'm so worried my insurance will deny
