% Excess Body Weight Loss Based on STARTING BMI
I found it surfing around for projections for resolving co-morbidities -- the closer your BMI to healthy, the more co-morbidities are gone. I want to put sleep apnea behind me! Its geek-swoon-worthy, right?? :-)

UC Study: Bariatric Surgery Cuts Cancer Risk By 30 Percent
"The greatest benefit from surgery was among obesity-associated cancers. Postmenopausal breast cancer dropped by 42 percent. Endometrial cancer was down 50 percent. Colon cancer dropped 41 percent, and the risk for pancreatic cancer was lowered by 54 percent. Schauer explains the lower cancer risk is partially tied to estrogen levels. The weight loss surgery reduces a person's estrogen level. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28938270 Be sure to bring this up when people question your choice for surgery!! :-)

I've added flax seed to my morning smoothies (emulsified in Vitamix) in the past and its great for promoting regularity -- is this something we can have post-surgery?

Surgery didn’t work?
I feel oddly dirty for engaging in this thread... devolvement. I will bow out now, with the hope that the OP doesn't bail on the forum because of the bad behavior and thread hijacking.

Vitamin Supplements 1st 3 Months
Hey BPs, The topic at this month's pre-surgery diet class was vitamins supplements in the first 3 months, e.g. chewables or powders. Someone in the elevator on the way down had sampled a chewable and we were both gagging (and giggling) at how awful it was. Recommendations?? Our practice offered 2 chewable options and 1 powder option, but we can bring other options in for approval.
