  6. Hey Pixiestix, I have scleroderma (auto immune) and I was banded on March 13, 2008. I spoke at length with my rheumi and he suggested AGAINST the surgery. In this case they do not know what causes/cures Scleroderma and I did a lot of research and spoke with the lap band doctor at length about my condition. I decided to go ahead with the surgery and it has been a GREAT success. Maybe this will be the "Miracle" cure - who knows!! I still take all my meds as before and have had NO complications - just have to crush some of my meds and take with applesauce or yogurt. I have lost 30 pounds in about 1 1/2 months. I feel great and I am loving my band.
  7. I was banded on March 13th. I dreaded the gas pains myself, but luckily I did not experience that. I was told to walk alot and move your arms around and up and down while walking. I live in the country and would walk to our cattle gaurd and back while moving my arms around like a crazy women. Sorry you are in pain - sounds like you have tried it all.............Good luck:thumbup:
  8. :shades_smile:Hey Bunny, Dr. B also did my surgery. I was banded on March 13th and LOVING it. He is a great Dr.!! I am about 3 weeks post-op and have stopped losing weight, but I am also walking anywhere from 2 to 4 miles a day. I am not really hungry and do not get my first fill until the 14th - any suggestions on keeping the weight going down?
  9. Hey fellow Texans. I am from the Panhandle also. I was banded on March 13 and have already lost 25 lbs. The gas was not a problem with me. But I was warned to WALK, Walk and more walking. This helps releave the gas pains and though it seems hard move your arms around. I am loving the band:smile:
