  1. Congratulations! You are very close to my starting weight. My surgery is august 7th. Thank you for sharing - this is very inspirational!
  2. I am getting sick of the super sweet shakes already (still pre-op). My nutritionist recommended a few brands. But Unjury was the one that offered a strawberry sorbet flavor (that reviews say isn't too sweet and it's not creamy) and chicken soup. just ordered to try for myself. Some reviews mentioned mixing the strawberry sorbet with sugar free lemonade - sounds like that might be too sweet for me, but might try it. Great to have options!
  3. I have had chronic fatigue for 30 years (and diagnosed with fibromyalgia about 12 years ago) and am scheduled for vsg on 8/7. Would love to hear others' experiences around these issues and vsg. How was your recovery? How do you feel now? Improvement? Worsening? Thanks for your input!
  4. I was told no immersion in water (baths out too) for 1 month post op. Will miss my aquatherapy for that month!
  5. Check out lowdosenaltrexone.org. It's the first thing stanford clinics use for cfs/fibromyalgia (has been for years), but a lot of drs don't know about it. It helped me a lot with diffuse body pain. Also modulates my immune system so I don't get sick as often.
  6. Not having nightmares, but my sleep is very fitful and I am feeling jittery during the day with 1/3 of my usual coffee! Maybe pre-op jitters? Or maybe it is the diet? Our subconscious minds are surely very busy sorting out these changes and trying to make sense of them.
  7. My vsg is on 9/17, and I have chronic pain, chronic fatigue (for 30 years) and fibromyalgia. I've been helped greatly by using Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN) which is now the first line treatment at Stanford for fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue patients. It can make a huge difference for some people. But, you can't take opiates with it because it's an opiate antagonist. Lots of info on lowdosenaltrexone.org
  8. Hi Jayne, I'm right near Palo Alto and have a flexible schedule. Would be great to meet. My surgery date is 8/7.
  9. Yes! I'm near Palo Alto, but willing to meet in San Jose. My surgery is 8/7.
  10. Hi! I live near Palo Alto. I'm having surgery at Stanford on August 7th. Maybe we can gather the Bay Area locals and meet in an area that works for everyone?
