When I started my journey I was up to 258. I got banded the 7th of Aug, 2008. I am now as of April 19th 2010 187 and loving life again. I still want to lose 30 to 40 more.
  4. I just got my first fill today and while he was doing it I was having some kind of x-ray and I too could see it going down. This helped him determine how much to put in it. Doesn't every Doctor do it this way? He put 2cc in me and that was too much, the liquid did not move very well so he took a bit out. I have 1.8cc in now and I am on liquids for the day. I already felt restriction so I am really wondering what this it going to be like. Good luck!
  5. Hey all, I too am from Illinois. I am in Coumbia right next to st. louis. Are there any other columbian's on here? I would love to have someone to walk with! I get my first fill Sept. 15th, and so far things have gone really good. Good luck all!
  6. I to had diarreha issues so I slowly ate some whipped yogert and it helped big time.
  7. I have been feeling the same way. I have be jumping from 242 to 239 the last week. I keep telling myself it's not the 258 that I was and that I got the lap band not gastric bypass. I think we just have to get through this part of it and then we will all start losing again. From what I have read on here everyone goes through this. I'm so gald we are not alone with this. Good Luck everyone!

Ok, I did it. I started my journey in April of 08. I signed up for a seminar and was on my way when I ran into a friend and told her what I was doing and she then went with me. We went, liked what we heard and made our appointments with the doctor the next day. We saw the doctor did our tests saw the doctor again and then waited to see what our insurance would say. Chrys heard back first and was accepted. Then I heard and my surgery date was Aug 7th, 08. I got to the hospital and everything went along just fine. Then the doctor was running behind so I just took a nap and waited. I was so relaxed I couldn't believe it. I had prayed and prayed for this and had so many of my friends and family praying for me I just knew that’s why I was so relaxed. When they finally took me in I moved to the operating table and they put some oxygen on me and that is all I remember. I woke up and was on my way to my room. My experience was way different then Chrys'. She was taken to get her swallow test right way and I didn't get mine till the next day. I had a catheter the whole first day, and didn't get out of bed till like 1 in the morning. I got up and walked around a bit to try and move some of that gas out of me. Then back to bed and right to sleep again. Oh my did I sleep a lot! The next morning I got up for that horrid swallow test. The crap they have to drink has got to come from a rained in pothole from HELL. :frown: OH MY WORD talk about nasty. I totally threw it up after the test which hurt so bad. I held on to my stomach as tight as I could. Then back to my room which was 9:30 and they said they would get me some food (broth, tea, jello, popsicle and apple juice). That didn't come till 2:30 and I was home by 4:00, crazy hospital time. I went straight to bed when I got home. The gas pain was so bad. When I left the hospital they didn't give me my scripts so I had NO pain meds. My dad went and got me the pepsid AC, liquid Tylenol and chewable vitamins. BUT I wanted PAIN meds! LOL I called my doc and he called Walgreens right away and my husband went to get it for me. I threw that back like a shot in a bar....LOL and all was well in my world again. I took that med till Monday morning then I could deal. I started lying on my sides to help move that gas. It’s now 5days later and I still have gas, crazy how it gets in your shoulders. WOW now that is some fun pain. Oh and yesterday I started with the weird diarrhea. FUN FUN I am also craving foods I never would crave before.....LOL That is cracking me up. Watching TV does not help. My journey has been WAY different then my girl Chrys. She had NO gas pain. I just think of it like this, I took one for the team....lol

  12. Hello all! It’s crazy how our stories all differ a bit. The gas has about killed me. I can't burp to save my live so thank God it can come out the other end...lol I just today experienced the weird BMs. But with that comes more gas out so I can live. I can totally lie on my sides and that has helped with getting the gas out. I will say I am SO tired of the liquid diet. But this to shall pass. :wink2: I got myself a nice new scale today and like what it said already! Good Luck All!!
