I was sleeved on 7/24/17 and had no complications. I am following my surgeons plan to a 'T'. The only real "issues" I have had (if you could even call it that) is a MUCH slower resting heart rate (pre-surgery in mid 70's and now in high 40's) and what I am told is normal stomach spasms while drinking my fluids. Anyway, all that consumes me each day is developing blood clot(even tho I walk many times a day and keep active), pneumonia (even tho I use my incentive spirometer several times a day and haven't had any shortness or breath), staple line leak and strictures. I tend to be an over-worrier as it is but I wish I could just enjoy my new sleeve and this gift that has been given to me to start a new healthy like and NOT worry so much! Sorry you are feeling this way. My pain meds had to be switched right away, the liquid hydrocodone was making me flushed and hot with really red skin. The anti-spasmodic has been a lifesaver. I don't think I could drink anything without that right now. They work immediately on me and it helps to not have EVERY SIP send my stomach into spasm. I would definitely ask your doctor for it. I am dealing with same and am told all normal. Our stomachs are healing and will be for awhile. I was told I do not need to follow the 30/30 rule when on this phase because it's all liquids. I am still having trouble getting all liquids in but my pee is clear and I do not have any signs of dehydration. I am getting about 48oz a day. My stomach gurgles and contracts with each and every sip. Did your doc give you an anti-spasmodic to take for the stomach pressure? It helps me a lot. I was told no driving for 1 week. It's because of the narcotic pain meds. My one week will be tomorrow but I have to drive a short distance today. Lea HW 282 5' 4" 39 years old SW 264 Sleeved on 7/24/17

Holy crap your incisions look SO much better than mine! Mine look like a bear attacked me! I also had reaction to the liquid hydrocodone, one side of my face got super red and extremely hot and my arms were hot and red. They told me to discontinue use and switched me to dilaudid pill form as I tolerated the dilauded in the hospital just fine. Turns out I didn't need it because the next day I really didn't need any pain meds anymore. But I am still super Jealous of your belly. Mine has huge bruises around each incision. I'm envious of those who have no problems with liquids. I know my new sleeve is still healing but man....every single sip spins my gut into spasm. It sucks and takes forever to drink anything! Lea HW 282 5' 4" 39 years old SW 264 Sleeved on 7/24/17

Day 5 but before that I didn't feel the urge or need to go. I took Dulcolax that my surgeon prescribed twice a day even when I wasn't taking the narcotics anymore Lea HW 282 5' 4" 39 years old SW 264 Sleeved on 7/24/17

No protein on a pre-op liquid diet? That sounds awful. I had to do liquids only for 14 days but I was able to have 3 protein shakes a day. Lea HW 282 5' 4" 39 years old SW 264 Sleeved on 7/24/17

Girl, the referred pain in my shoulder/neck had me screaming in pain in the recovery room. It was the WORST! I am 4 days post op and just today my left shoulder finally does not hurt from that gas pain. Good luck in the coming days. I am learning so much already. Today finally starting to feel human again. I was sleeved on 7/24. Today is my first day I am feeling more normal. Every sip I take I can feel and I did feel dizzy and weak the first few days after I got home from the hospital. I think in a day or 2 you will be feeling much better . Lea HW 282 5' 4" 39 years old SW 264 Sleeved on 7/24/17

I am 4 days post op. Before surgery was 264, after surgery 272 and now only back down to 267. I am not going to weigh myself again for another week because it is depressing! Then I read on other posts that people are losing 10, 11 lbs in their first WEEK! I am just going to trust what the experienced people say here and hope for the best!

I have a few things going on and just wondering if this is normal? 1. My left shoulder and neck still Hurt from the CO2 has. It's starting to freak me out. I walked and stretch as much as I can . When does this referred gas pain go away?!? This has been the hardest part of the surgery for me so far. 2. Every single sip I take whether it's the liquid pain med, water or Isopure protein shake(made with water) it feels like my stomach spasms. Am I doing something wrong? 3. Hurts to take deep breaths. I use my incentive spiro several times each hour but it's still awfully painful to breath deeply. 4. Did anyone experience really low heartbeat after their surgery? They did an EKG before I left the hospital and it looked good and since I had no other symptoms associated with slow HB they said I would be ok but I am averaging In the low 50's now. I n the hospital it was always Around 48. MAkes me nervous!

I pretty much feel the exact same way. 2 Days post op...feeling crummy and same as everything else you mentioned. Can't wait until I am over this hump.

I just started liquid only 2 week diet today and my arm looks good right about now. I honestly do not know how anyone does this for 2 weeks and I'm only on day 1

My surgery date is 7/24 and I started liquids today. I hope these 2 weeks go by fast!
