  1. OoOoOoOo That sound's delicious!! Thanks for posting it. [:
  2. Thanks to everyone who answered. =) :wink2:
  3. Do you think it's possible? If you stick to a right diet/exersize plan? =)
  4. way to go!!! 8 lbs in 2 days? thats amazing! I hope everything goes awesome for you, keep us posted!!
  5. What is your opinions, thoughts of adolecent lap band surgery?
  6. LOL!!! That's great!!!!! && sorry I thought you guy's ment the adolecent thing. :biggrin: I'm a ditz. :smile2:
  7. Yes they do. They have atleast 3-4 centers in the United States specializing in WLS/LB for Adolecents. There's a few in Mexico too. I go to the one in Chicago, I'm 15. The 'New Hope' Program is 14-18 for children that have been struggling for weight 5+ years. They have banded about 200, and have 100 waiting. I should be getting my band around June. [:
  8. The image of 'beauty' is so messed up these days, it's unbelieveable. To be 'beautiful,' people think, you need to be a size zero. Everyone's beautiful in one way, or another. Look's aren't everything. Oprah's fat. Big deal? Kirstie's put on some weight. Who Cares? These are people JUST like us. They have weight issues. What makes you not think either one of these women have googled 'lap band surgery' and one of the first things you see is 'lap band talk.' You never know.. How would you feel, if someone posted, say for instance "I THINK yourname NEEDS LAP BAND SURGERY BECAUSE..." or America was talking about you behind your weight, saying that you were a fatass? && you found that on a weight loss website? Wouldn't you feel like shit? I think we have no room to judge anyone for any reason. You ALL know how it is to be big, you've went through the pain and embarassment. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but it's true. -Nicole
  9. La8again, I'm quite overweight. I'm almost to the 300's. Sorry, I really hate having to put my weight on here. I'm so self concious. =[
  10. Well, I'm fifteen. I'm about to get my band. I honestly think this is the best thing I've EVER done for me. Yes, our body's are still growing, but the band isn't going to interfere with this. We'll still grow normally, just like you. We'll still loose the weight, just like you. For some of the kids here in the United States, it's pretty much the only option left. We're the new generation, and we need to get this under control. I personally think, if you want this band, and your willing to work for it/with it, then go ahead and get it. It's a big step for a kid, but it's the best decision I think, that they'll ever make. -Nicole<3
  11. Thanks to eveyone who posted. The "Hey, blah blah blah" part ment, like people I know who are backstabbers, talk to you like you were their best friend. Bandit - Thank you very much. (: I'm trying to stay as positive as I can, but it's hard. You have a great day too. =) Long2Bfree- Thank you. I liked your quote. Wheetsin - No, I ment people that WE'RE mean to me, will be nicer. I've seen it happen before, and they acted like nothing happend. Thank you for posting. (: Heather - Your post was very nice. I can't wait for that prom dress!! Thanks. :tt1: Heidi - Your post was the same thing I'm going through now. You'r right, they're not worth our time. (=. Thanks for posting. Laura - Your post made me laugh!!! I love the trailor park story!! But you we're right on everything you said. Thank you. =) Stefanie - I told a handfull of people, and then word got around, and alot of people know now. But it's okay, I guess. I've talked to people about it, like some of my old teachers when I go to my brothers school. Some of them have actuley checked into getting the band which is awesome. Thanks for posting. (:
  12. Why are people such assholes? We are the same as anyone else, we just have a little bit more flubber then anyone else. What's up with people? && It's like people you DON'T even know, judge you. Now I'm getting the surgery, and everyone's acting different. Like saying 'Hey, blah blah blah" ... Has anyone else experienced this? I go to highschool next year, and I don't know how I'm going to handle it. I tell you now, if I run into someone who used to make fat jokes at me, and they're trying to be my friend, I will literally tell them to sit on it. Because I won't stand for it. They treated me like crap, and I really don't want to deal with them. You know? I guess I had to type out my feelings this morning I guess, lol. -Nicole<3
  13. Congrats!!!!! You must be really excited!! Are you nervous? I'll also pray for you. =] -Nicole!:crying:
  14. Awesome!! Congratulations!! Were you banded at Genisis?
  15.:thumbup::eek::crying::eek::sad::eek::drool::eek::wink2::eek::heart::eek::eek::eek::scared2::eek::scared2::eek::scared2: OMFG!!!!11 That's freaking crazy!! It makes me hungry, but at the same time sick to my stomache.
  16. Thanks everyone, I appreciate it. =)
  17. Medicaid, as in Medical card? I have the medical card and my surgery, fills, every doctor visit is being paid for by them. Call the local big city hospital's and see if they do. There has to be somewhere. Also, if your worried about the skin, you most likely will have too at some point. But don't worry, they will pay for it too. Hope this helps!! -Nikki<3
  18. Also, I go back Monday for my monthly app. I'm supposed to be banded next month, or June. I find out if insurence went threw on Monday!!!!!!!!:w00t:
  19. I'm more then ready, so happy for this. It's a life changing experience, and I want this more then ever. I'm ready to be a new person. I'm ready to change my life all around. But, I'm nervous. Who isn't? I'm a really funny girl, I love to laugh, and joke around. But I don't want my personality to change. It's like, this "fat" has been with me all my life. It's been with me threw the hard times, the good times. I don't want to change the 'Nikki' everyone's known. Has anyone thought this before? Idk, mabey I'm just crazy. I've got a best friend, whose big as me, and she thinks I don't need this surgery. She disapproves of it. I think she thinks, that I won't be the same person again. I'll have changed. But I can't blame her.. I go back Monday for my appointment in Chicago for my soon to be lapband!! -Nikki
  20. EXACTLY! Same here. Way too go on the positive attitude!! Just think, they'll be ALL over you, when you get to your wanting weight. && They'll say it's the best thing you've ever done. Nicole!! 15 year old waiting for my "bandation" =)
  21. Thank you  Your absoulutely right on everything that you wrote. I really appreciate you taking your time to talk to me about this. :tt2: I'm using that calorie tracker now, so thank you for you showing me that. Congrats on loosing that weight!!! Oh, btw, how long have you been banded?? -Nicole.
  22. OMFG I ABOUT PEED MY PANTS. This is so funny!!!! I'm 15, and I seriously don't think I could survive the 80's. No ipod? No cell phone? No CALL WAITING!?!?!? This was the best thing I've read all day. (:
  23. Well, I go to the University of Chicago, New Hope program. I'm a minor getting the surgery. But the people where I go, are trying to convince my mom into getting the band, and they speak HIGHLY good of Mercy in Chicago. So If they think they're good, I think it's good too.
  24. Well, I gained 6 more lbs. Lovely Much? So now, I'm 313. I hate this so fuxking much, it's not even funny. I'm 15, and I'm getting my band this summer. I'm supposed to be loosing, not gaining. I'm type 2 diabetic, also. But, I'm scared to go back and I can see their faces already. There's this one nurse that, that I really think just hates me. She made the comment last time "Your not pretty now, but you will be soon." :l I just looked at her like "and you have room to talk?" I know she'll make another comment or something when I go back. I don't know what to do. I'm ALWAYS hungry. Why? Why can't I feel when I'm full? I'm going to try my hardest to loose the weight by next Monday. Idk what I'm going to do, I'm scared out of my mind. Don't get my wrong, I REALLLLLLLLLLLY want this surgery. But if they see I'm gaining, I don't know what's going to happen. :confused2: Any sugestions, or anything you have to say is welcome with me.
