  1. I'm with you Booboo, at 5' tall my starting weight was 209, day of surgery(4/21 )I was 206 and as of today I'm happy to say I'm 190 and can't believe how much more energy I have so soon. At 55 years old this is the best thing I ever did for myself.
  2. I'm so excited , I finally past my first plateau and lost 2 more lbs this week. I was stuck for almost 3weeks and was getting a little discouraged. I have 9 more days till my first fill and can't wait. Sounds like everyone is doing great. I try to have one protein drink every other day. Other than that my protein consists of meat, cheese, tuna and eggs and I'm feeling great. And my energy level is also up alot. Not sure why, I've only lost 16 lbs, but whos complaining, not me..... I also wanted to thank everyone who hase shared their expierences, ups and downs and accompishments. You keep us all going. Luv you guys!!!!
  3. Your welcome and my name is really Carol, my profile for this board is dandy75, so I go by either one.
  4. Hi, I have to chime in on this and hope it make your feel a little better Yvonne. The day I got my surgery date is the day my husband told me our insurance was changing, effectice April 1 and my Surgery was the 15th of May, All was good, my out of pocket was $1500 with my old insurance, then my new insurance made be get a new referal from an HMO doctor and almost had to go thru all the pre-op test again, but thank God they let me use all my original test. I got my new authorization and my surgery date was moved to April 21(the only good thing to come out of this) and my new out of pock cost went to $11,000 and follow-ups for fills to 6months instead of a year. My husband and I discussed it and decided it was more imporant to get the band and pay the $11,000 for my health. Thank God I have a husband who wants me to grow old with him. That was my little (big) bump in the road to healthier, happier and longer new life. Just thought I would share.
  5. OK, I'm glad to see I'm not the only 50 something who likes games and video games, I'm such a kid at heart and happy to say so are my 30 something kids. I've been looking for the wii console and fit board but can't seem to find it anywhere.
  6. Those are the ones I use, I was drinking snapple diet and switch to the on the go crystal lite you put in your bottled water. Before surgery it was diet pepsi and diet dr pepper. Now 5 weeks later I really don't miss the soda. Thanks again for your input.
  7. Thanks for the heads up, the only thing is water alone gives me heart burn, sounds crazy but I'll try switching everyother crystal lite to water.
  8. Thanks, that makes me feel alot better, I have been drinking about 5 to 6 16oz bottles a day.
  9. Just wondering if it was ok to put some crystal lite in the water and have it still count as your water intake?
  10. Hi all, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who is able to eat more and more. I can't wait till I get my first fill one 6/9. I find myself eating 6oz and 7oz of food at times and most likely could eat more, but I stop myself. Turler, I was glad to see that your 2nd fill went better
  11. Thanks for the heads-up, I'm flying 9days after my fill.
  12. Thanks Phyl, that makes me feel alot better.
  13. Gina, thanks for doing the spreadsheet!!!!
  14. I have my first fill on June 9th and I will be traveling 3000 miles back east on June 18th for a few weeks. My question is,will I have enough time to adjust to the fill and not worry about traveling so soon after. Or, should I try to get an appointment earlier?
  15. Sadie, What agreat post, I'm only 5 weeks post-op and learning everyday new things that help me alot from this board. Thanks for sharing.
  16. Just updated my info on the spread sheet and I'm happy to say I'm One month post-op and down 14lbs and actually have not lost anything in about 10 days. First fill not until June 9th and I can't wait.
  17. Thanks Becky & JB, I tried MM tablets, only took 2 and I hope it works. If not I'll through the rest in my gas tank........lol My weight loss is at a stand still, maybe because after almost 7 months I ended up getting my period which i really didn't think I would ever get again. It never fails, last time it was almost 8 months. Couldn't come at a better time, I'm getting to old for this stuff. I was on a roll with my weight loss, 1month post-op and down 14lbs. Have a great weekend. Carol
  18. Sorry I haven't been on the site in a while, I have alot of catching up. How's everyone doing? I'm now a month post-op and down 14 lbs. and at a stand still. First fill not until 6/9 can't wait. Before I go and read all the posts for the last week or so can anyone tell me what I can take for constipation? Is ok to take ex-lax? Be back later after I get done checking out how everybody has been doing. Carol
  19. Welcome to all you newbies, this is a great thread to be on, it's been a several days since I've visited. I have alot of post to go thru and read so I hope all is good with everyone. Well, it's been 1 week since I started regular food, I lost 1lb the first day and after that the scale hasn't moved. My first fill is 6/9 and it can't come soon enough. Other than that everything is good. It sounds like I'm not the only one waiting for that 1st fill.... Well I have alot of reading and catching up to do, back later.........
  20. I'm 4wks post-op and I've lost 14lbs. Although the last 3 days I haven't lost an oz. I'm sticking to the three meals a day and try to stay at 4oz, sometimes I may go over by 1-2 oz's. I don't get my first fill until 6/9 ,hope the weight starts coming off again. The only thing I worry about is that I'm going on a trip 9days after my fill for a few weeks so I hope I can adjust to the fill within those 9 days. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  21. Coloradochick:Sounds like you're doing good, I have a few more weeks before my first fill. It's great that you are finally feeling restriction. Does it feel tight even with eating mushies? And the big question is did it hurt? Keep me posted and good luck on Saturday with regular food. Carol Thanks Turler: I know what you mean, but it's great to see how everyone is doing. Let me know how you do on your first fill. So far I'm ok with just eating 3 meals aday @ 4oz each, well maybe 4 to 5 oz depending on what I'm eating, but I usually do 4oz. Good luck tomorrow with your fill. Carol
