  2. Thank you for getting back to me. Im now at a week post op but I have a long way to go. I'm finding it more unusual than difficult at the minute. The things that I look forward to are the little things (literally) my days of bingeing on carbs and stodgy meals are gone. I can't wait to taste things and savour them.

  4. Me too. It's like I'm a reptile, as soon as the heat dissipates I'm done. I wake up with energy, have something to start me off (clear liquids- 6 days post op). I feel like I have enough energy to get on with the day. Then I crash. Hard. I get almost tearful. Then I need to rest and get warm before finding energy again. It has to be lack of calories

  6. I have 2 questions, compleatley not related to one another. Is it normal not to poo for days? I have only been twice since the op. That is twice in one week. Wasn't substantial either. Is that weird. Definitely getting enough water and passing urine fine. Secondly (and slightly random) will I ever be able to eat nuts again (I don't mean in the foreseeable, I just mean ever) maybe it is just because I am at the stage when I am greiving some of my past food life. I was thinking will I ever be able to enjoy nuts again (obviously in moderation) it's a big Christmas thing in out family and I would really miss it. On the other hand I imagine they are really hard to digest. Any long term sleeves out there know what the score is?
  7. SO glad I found this (4days post op, 1st day home and scared I made messing up because I'm not surrounded by nurses) so aware of every sip
  8. Are you all saying that you don't really enjoy drinking anymore?

  12. Manchester, England! Would be good to have a UK forum however you may be interested in this blog written by someone from the UK. I personally loved it as she is closer to my age and found it helped my anxiety over the op as it is funny too. If you dislike bad language, it may not be for you as it should probably have a parental guidance sticker. https://deflatedboobs.com/ enjoy!

  17. Thank you for writing back. I've written a food diary, I'm seeing the dietitian tomorrow. Hopefully they will give me the thumbs up I need to stop worrying. I want this so badly, I just want to make sure I don't mess it up.
  18. Wearing pant/jeans again. not having to wear the floaty tops to hide my stomach (nothing hides it) feeling comfortable in my own skin instead of being embarrassed by my size constantly. Not hating every single picture of me. Not untagging myself from every event I go to because I don't want what I look like to be on my Facebook page. Not being controlled by my grumbling stomach constantly! Just to mention a few. Also I know it may sound pathetic but I'm looking forward to compliments. Enjoying my body again. Wanting to make an effort, dress nicely and put on make up again.
  19. I'm so glad I am not the only one. I've been so worried that I have the wrong info. Finally have my pre op assessment tomorrow with a dietician, I have kept a food diary as I have been scared I have messed up. My surgery is on the 23rd and have booked time off, don't know what I would do if it was postponed. I'm so excited now. I want the surgery done now so I can stop obsessing over every meal and it's calorie content
  20. @shamale congratulations! Looking really well! I think my surgery weight will be close to yours. I go under the knife next tuesday (23rd) so good to see the progress
  21. Help? My surgery is in the 23rd. I wasn't put on a liquid only pre operative diet, and as the days go on I worry that I am Eating too many carbs or fat etc. In a way I think it would be easier to have stricter guidelines. What is going to happen if I haven't done the pre op right. I've had no cigarettes caffeine alcohol very few carbs and sugar. I just hope little is not too much is my anxiety justified or am I just losing my mind?
  22. I am also scheduled for 23rd May are you based in the U.K. ?
  23. I was fine until the countdown to the pre op diet (started yesterday) Its insane I go from excited to terrified every few hours.
