  1. I just got my surgery date...anyone out there my surgery twin?
  2. Yes I'm from Queens. I'm going through my bariatric surgeon hopefully they approve me with 3 months visits to him.
  3. Thank you. Did you do the 6 months or the 3 months? I just want to get this done already.
  4. Hi I just want to share with everyone that has Emblemhealth HIP in NY and are going through the requirements, that the supervised weight loss program can be either 6 months weigh ins with your PCP -OR- 3 months with your surgeon. I called and researched and was sent the attached from Emblemhealth. Feel free to print and show your surgeon. I forwarded it to my surgeon and he approved it as well. Just want to make anyone with this insurance aware that you don't have to wait a whole 6 months. On that note, I am having my 3rd visit with my surgeon next week. Hopefully, I can get a date then. 5. Hi all, Queens here!!!! I have Emblem Health Hip and my surgeon is Dr. Merola. I am going through my insurance requirements now. hopefully having surgery end of August. Anyone else have DR. Merola and having surgery end of August/beginning September?
  6. HI Emblem Health - HIP here as well. I'm from Queens. I researched all the HIP requirements and what the dr.'s office failed to notice was that you are required to do a 6 month weigh in with your PCP OR.....3 months with your surgeon. I am doing the 3 months with the surgeon. I have my second month visit on Wednesday. I can't wait to have the surgery already.
  7. Omg these posts give me so much hope. I too have PCOS and currently taking metformin and spyro. No help there. I'm going through my insurance requirements now hopefully having surgery by August.
  8. That's great! When do you get to go home?
  9. Hi Patty how are you doing? How did it go yesterday?
  10. Good Luck!!! Praying all goes well!!! Please update as soon as you are able.
  11. Wow 30g of protein, the BariatricPal ones are only 15g of protein and so are the soups. I tried the pudding and it tasted like strawberry flavored plastic - Horrible! You can either make a shake or a pudding, I tried pudding which is only 4 oz water instead of 8oz for shake. I will let you know how the soups are when I try them.
  12. Yes my PCP already sent for my approvals. I already have been approved for the gastro. How was your endoscopy experience?
  13. Dr. Merola said to do my monthly weigh ins with my PCP. So the first one was on 4/4/17. My 2nd one is going to be on 4/9. So September will be my last weigh in. In the meantime I'm going to see all the other dr.'s .
  14. Have you tried any of the BariatricPal foods? I just purchased the shakes and soup to try before my pre-op. What are some of the liquid diet things you are ingesting?
  15. Yes. Had my consult with Dr. Merola on 4/28/17. We're looking at late September early October surgery date.
  16. Hi Patty, Forgot to ask you, what kind of surgery are you having? I'm thinking of getting the Gastric Sleeve
  17. Thank you so much for the info. Looking forward to hearing about your progress.
  18. Thanks for the explanation. I'm Lisa btw. Nice to meet you Patty.
  19. So the PCP visits what are they for? Weigh ins?
  20. That's awesome we have the same dr. We should stay in touch. Although you are having surgery way before me.
