  1. It will go by fast. When I had my first appointment with him I thought 6 months would take forever but it went by faster than I thought! I started my 2 week liquid diet and while I'm hungry I know I have goal in sight so it makes it worth it.
  2. My surgery is May 15th also and I start my 2 week liquid diet tomorrow...my doctor has me on all liquids...I wish I could have some lean protein and veggies lol
  3. Hi Lisa, I'm getting the gastric sleeve. That was the best option for me.
  4. Your welcome! I will definitely post about my process. I start my liquid diet soon so will let you know how that goes
  5. -6 month PCP visits -nutrition evaluation -psychiatric evaluation -gastro eval -cardiology eval -pulmonary eval And you need to see him 2 times during the process
  6. Yes you have to get weighed and consulted about your diet and exercise. At the end of the 6 months your PCP has to write a letter for the insurance and submit his notes that shows the 6 months of weigh ins
  7. Definitely. I know I had questions during the process so we can definitely keep in touch!
  8. He really explains everything that will happen and what you need to do. Just follow his sheet of requirements and get them all done so that all you need is the PCP visits that's where the wait comes in because Emblem requires 6 consecutive months with your PCP
  9. I went to his seminar at the end of October and saw him in November. I began my PCP visits then. You have to do 6 months of visits with your PCP so even though I have been ready since October I just finished my required visits until April. I was done with all my other required doctors back in January.
  10. I started my process in October and Dr. Merola is my doctor also!!!! Follow the sheet he gives you and no problem....I gained 6lbs during the 6 month consults but he said not to worry and he was right. I think he is great!
  11. May 15th just got my date today! Super excited!!!!
  12. I have Emblem Health HIP and it took about 5-6 days for approval. I actually just got my approval yesterday and my surgery is scheduled for May 15 super excited!
  13. My insurance approved in about 1 week
