  1. I'm in a similar situation, as my NUT doesn't want me to lose no more than 8 pounds. I have already lost 3 of those eight. I have no comorbidities and I just barely meet the BMI requirements for my insurance. I have a sleep study scheduled in 2weeks -kind of hoping I have sleep apnea but at the same time I don't since I really don't want to use a CPap machine. I have slacked off at the gym just so I can maintain my weight for now. But in the meantime, I'm getting back into meal preps and trying my best to stick to a low carb diet. I still have 4 more months of supervised diet.
  2. No, I have worked in HR before and unless the doctor writes the type of surgery(most use medical codes) in your FMLA paperwork, they will not know.
  3. I started the process in March with. I had my1st appointment with my surgeon on 4/26, go for occupational therapy evaluation tomorrow and H Pylori test on Friday along with my 3rd appointment with nutritionist. I have to have EGD which is scheduled towards the end of this month, sleep study scheduled for next month. I still have to schedule the psych evaluation. My insurance requires 6 months supervised diet so I should be done by Sept and hoping to have approval and surgery by late Oct/Nov time frame. I am so nervous because my nutritionist is afraid if I lose to much my insurance will not approve my surgery since I have no comorbidity. I'm healthy fat. No HP, diabetes, good cholesterol, unless the sleep study determines I have sleep apnea, I have to maintain a 40 BMI.
  4. Awesome, good luck. I just started so I'm hoping if all goes well, I can get approved have the surgery by the end of the year
  5. I'm a newbie, just had my consult with my surgeon yesterday. I have told only 2 people, one is a close friend who just happens to be my co-worker and the other a trusted family member who I will rely on to get home from hospital after surgery. I had a co-worker who had the sleeve done last year and the entire facility knew, they constantly talk and criticize. I just think it is my business and plan to keep it that way. They are so nosey, one even asked what was my doctor appointment for when I returned to work. smh
  6. Do you know if they require a 3 year weight history with BMI of 35 with a comorbidity or over 40 with out to qualify?
