  1. thanks... but doesn't really answer my question
  2. Hey whats going on. I'm 6' 2" also and at my heaviest I was 375. Right before surgery I was 356, and am currently weighing in at 290, and im only 21 my heaviest was about 2-3 yrs. ago. I know exactly where you're coming from. I've always been competitive person as well. You keep saying in your mind "well I'm healthy and and comfortable with my weight, as long as I can maneuver around with my weight I'm fine". But to tell you the truth you're not, the more weight you lose the better you feel not only mentally but physically. AS you continue to lose weight you're still gonna have the mentality of a 350+ pound guy in a smaller and quicker body, therefore you're gonna be twice as stronger.
  3. I need somewhere 2 go 2 in northern jersey. perferably hudson county. Doctor's office, hospital, fill center, etc. anywhere would do. Im tired of driving 2 see my doctor every month its 2 far!
  4. im a heavy milk drinker and fan. I eat cereal every morning with milk and drink a cup of milk every night before bed. I tried just about all the milks out there and just can't get into like any other then the regular milk (the one with the red cap). The last milk I tried was the fat free and it was discusting wit cereal, it was too watery and gave it a nasty taste. So as of now im drinking regular milk, the best of all !
  5. I find myself weighing myself over 5 times a day. I've heard it's a disease to constantly weigh yourself. What's it called? How can I stop this??
  6. congrats !..good luck with everything !
  7. you can eat whatever your body lets you. Everyone's body reacts different to the lap-band. Some peoples' bodies tolerate foods that others don't. experiment with different foods, just don't forget to chew!!!! Stay away from fast foods and fried foods!!! but Its ok by me to eat something "unhealty" once in a blue moon. get use to eating boiled and baked foods
  8. I suggest for all to start highlighting your other problems. For example, high blood pressure, high glucose, back problems, knee problems, etc. Any problems that you have due to being over weight. If you don't have any problems which is unusual for someone who is over weight, Start seeing specialists in different fields. One of them will find something wrong with you. As for this can help getting approved by your insurance.
  9. Being nervous is normal. I never had any surgeries prior to the lap band surgery. So picture the mess I was! As for the liquid diets, it's hard I'm not gonna lie but you'll get threw it, it's not the end of the world. The protein shakes do take a little bit nasty because the doctor tells you to mix them with water(my doctor does. Don't know about the others) to avoid adding on extra weight due to mixing with milk. Over all you'll be fine, it's part of the process and part of your weight loss journey
  10. jdrocks...you shouldn't have much trouble getting any liquids down. You were just banded, you have no restrictions. Then again every one is different. Maybe you should liquefy your protein drinks more.
  11. drink A Lot Of Fluids, Preferably Water.you Can Also Drink Some Gatorade And Vitamin Water, But Don't Over Do It These Drinks Have A Lot Of Sugar So Limit On How Much You Drink. Also Start Drinking Liquid Vitamins To Get The Energy Back That Your Body Is Using To Recover.
  12. hang In There Every One Goes Threw The Stand Still. Don't Put Any Mind Into It. Just Continue With Your Diet And Exercise As You Normally Would. When You Least Expect It Your Body Will Catch On And Shed Them Pounds !
  13. thanks, do you have a number or address or anything i can use to get in contact with them?
  14. Wassup All?!, I Need A Good Doctor To Switch To. My Original Doctor Is Just To Far For Me. I'm Looking For A Local Doctor. One In Northern Jersey, Or In Hudson County.
  15. thanks a lot
  16. Is Orange Juice Ok To Drink Even Though Its High On Sugar? Pre-op I Was Never Able To Drink O.j Because It Would Give Me Incredible Heart Burn. Recently I've Developed A Strong Taste And Desire For It. I Drink A Lot Of It Now.
  17. I got my 2nd band fill on 3/12/08 and ever sine I barely have bowel movements. I rarely go, maybe once a day and when I do only a tiny bit comes out. Is it because i barely eat so theres nothing to come out? PLEASE HELP ! ! ! !
