  1. Thank you @Newme17. Prayers going up for everyone tonight that will be having surgery soon. I hope you have a good day tomorrow and sleep better tonight.
  2. God Bless you @Sweet as peaches. I'll be keeping all of you in my prayers. I will try and check in tomorrow night from Mexico!!
  3. Well I just finished my last solid food for awhile ( baked trout fillet). I will be on clear liquids only tomorrow. It is getting real. I am on my way to drop my dog off to my daughters for the week we will be gone. I hope everyone had a good day!
  4. Thank you so much for affirming my decision. I will be on a plane this time tomorrow headed to San Diego for surgery Monday morning. I will update this thread with my experiences as I am able.
  5. Sorry you had that problem last night. I understand completely. I actually slept really good last night. When I had problems with my stomach growling I drank an extra protein shake and it seemed to help. I hope you sleep better tonight.
  6. Happy Saturday everyone. This time tomorrow I will be on a plane headed to San Diego, and then a car drive over the border to Mexico. I slept amazing last night. It was the first time in over 5 days. I have a lot to do today so I better get moving. I am going to pick up my granddaughter and spend a few hours with her today and see my grandson and daughter also. Have a great day everyone ?
  7. Yes the same for me. My biggest issue has been feeling hungry at lunch.
  8. That is awesome @Sweet as peaches. You are probably the first surgery of the day!
  9. How did everyone do with their diets today? I felt better today and not as hungry at lunch time. I had tuna and a salad for dinner.
  10. I don't know what time my surgery will be yet, but I am guessing it will be early since we are flying in the day before. I am praying I will be the first one of the day.
  11. That means you have to go all day with nothing to drink. When i had my hysterectomy it was 12 noon and it was hard. I would stay up late so you can sleep in longer then it won't bother you as much.
  12. I have been on full decaf for a couple days. I feel like I need the kick start from the caffeine in the morning, but I may stick it out if I get used to not having it. I am not having any headaches so I am glad I decided to step down and not switch cold turkey.
  13. @Aysla how did your surgery go? How are you feeling?
  14. Are you having surgery in Mexico also? Can I ask who your surgeon is? Maybe I will see you there. You are absolutely right. We are worth it!!
  15. It is probably subconsciously like you said. I am a little tired today but that could also be from lack of caffeine lol. I miss my coffee. I hope everyone has a Good Friday!!
  16. I am wide awake tonight and I have to get up early for work. I keep thinking of more stuff I need to get done before my dh and I head to Mexico on Sunday morning. I ordered a Ninja blender and some vitamins this past Monday and they arrived today. I am hoping I can make some protein shakes that taste better then the ones I have tried thus far. I hope everyone had a good day. Only three more days to go until surgery day!!
  17. My back fat is still present and accounted for ? My face is slimmer. I always lose in my face and boobs first.
  18. Today has been rough for me. I was so hungry at lunch time I decided to eat my 3oz of lean protein and veggies for lunch instead of dinner. I went and got a chicken Caesar salad and that calmed the beast. I will have my protein shake for dinner and go to bed early if I start thinking I'm hungry again. I hope everyone else is doing ok.
  19. I am praying this surgery will get me into the 5's. I was able to get mine down to 6.3 from 11.2 on diet, exercise, and 2000mg metformin.
  20. As a child the only fish I ever ate was frozen fish sticks. Gross!! It made me think I didn't like seafood. My husband loves seafood an over the years I have tried different things and I have found out just how good most seafood is. Salmon, trout, tuna, crab, flounder, and cod are my favorites. I would give it try you might like it. However, if I don't like something I don't plan on eating it post op, because like Outsidematxhinside said, we only have so much room for food and I want to eat what i like.
  21. You can do this Sweet as Peaches. I am nervous too, but we need to keep reminding ourselves of all the reasons why we need to have this surgery. Imagine yourself a year later as a lighter much healthier person. You have come to far to quit now. You will not stay home next Monday!
  22. I have never heard of this before. Are you sure this is legal and not a scam?
  23. lol , I hope they were satisfying ?. I had a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, and I have a meatloaf in the oven for dinner. I will have 3oz of it and some mixed vegetables.
  24. Yes, I am glad he is able to come with me. I don't think I would go alone. Our children are grown and we have 3 grandchildren already. I feel so much older than many who are getting WLS. But I plan on enjoying my 50's and not having to worry about my weight. I am paying $4600 for my surgery in Mexico so about the same. If I wanted to have the surgery close to home here in the US it would cost me anywhere from $15,000-20,000.
  25. My husband and I will fly to San Diego next Sunday, and my surgery will be on Monday the 15th. Is WLS expensive in Brussels?
