  1. I am in need of someone who has been through it and overcome. I am arpund my 7 month mark and am in a funk. I'm not working out, eating right or taking my vitamins. I'm just in a cycle I can't break and moving back to old habits. I don't know how to get motivated. I'm so tired all the time, i feel defeated. Please tell me there is hope?!?
  2. Let's start a WhatsApp......I am not sure how to create a group or else I would add everyone.
  3. Definitely stay away from the horror stories! You are going to do great! Yes, they made sure I had no acrylic nails or polish. My first #2 was about 5 or 6 days after surgery. Gas pain for me was the absolute worst. When I was still coming out from anesthesia I remember freaking out and asking if I was having a heart attach and dying. It was pretty painful for the first week but walking walking walking really did help sooth it. I did have a catheter right after surgery and I'm glad I did because I was in no shape to get up to use the bathroom. However, the nurses had me up and walking the night of surgery around midnight and once I was able to show them I could walk the catheter came out immediately. Hmmm no pre-op diet? I wish that were the case for me. It was protein shakes, broth and jello for a week before my surgery. As far as swallowing pills after surgery you might want to ask if a liquid option is available. I know with the swelling I had a hard enough time swallowing liquids, so I can't imagine having to swallow a pill. Even though I am already post-op I love messaging you guys. It may sound odd but it helps me with my recovery and coping with all of the mental challenges knowing that there are others out there who are or will be going through the same thing!

    It has been a year!

What are some words of wisdom/encouragement you could give someone who is only a month post-op? You look fantastic! Congratulations.
  5. I am a month post-op and need some encouragement. I am still mourning food and sometimes as myself why I went through with surgery. I know it will eventually get easier. I just find myself hung up thinking that I will never again be able to enjoy some foods that I used to love. Also, how has your stomach size increased? You look fantastic and it is really encouraging
  6. Jade, You still have a little bit of time before you would need to start a pre-op diet. They are normally started 1-2 weeks before surgery. Try not to worry too much! Monday the 13th makes 1 month post-op for me and I feel completely normal. Are you afraid of throwing up after surgery? I only had that sensation while in the hospital and they gave me medicine to stop it. You will know long before the point of getting sick when you are full and need to stop eating. As for the water intake, that was (and still is) a struggle for me. Most of the time though your fluid intake includes everything you eat after surgery(jello, soup, that sort of thing). As of now I can get about 40oz every day. I'm sure you will do great.
  7. I only took a week off. The most challenging part for me was getting in as much water as possible. I had a lot of swelling which made swallowing difficult and uncomfortable.
  8. I am feeling wonderful! My Dr says that I am doing great! I was off my pain meds almost completely before coming home and have not had any for since day 6. Are you getting excited for your sleeve? That surgery date will be here before you know it.
