  3. I would ask what the diagnosis was for the EGD. If you have expressed anything like heartburn, abdominal pain, trouble swallowing, nausea, and/vomiting, then it should be deemed medically necessary. If it's got any of these or other qualified diagnoses, I'd file an appeal. It might be something as simple as not being coded correctly when it was initially submitted.
  4. Thank you all for the feedback! The person that would know the answer was not in the office today when I went in for my follow up and psych eval....which I passed today! One step closer!

  6. My vitamin D was very low. I'm on 50,000 units twice per week for 3 months then rechecking my labs. My iron was also very low so I was put on an iron supplement.
  7. I know this sounds very strange but is it possible to lose too much weight prior to obtaining authorization from the insurance. My BMI is 44 right now. I'm afraid that I'll lose one pound too many while I'm working through my six month requirement and drop my BMI to 39.9 and then not qualify for surgery. Is that possible? Or do they use the starting weight from your first appointment?
