I don't know about anyone else but I am glad for the liquid diet. My bmi is 58 I think and I am hoping that shrinking my stomach and liver will give them more room to do the laperscopic surgery. They are moving up my consult to April 24th. My surgery could be the week of the 9th. I hope so. I really wanted to get it done before Mother's Day as a tribute to my Mom who passed away on Nov1st. As a person who normally takes a blood thinner I know that I will be getting lovenox when I go home. It's just part of my post surgical procedure like a liquid diet and frequent blood sugar tests to make sure it doesn't go too low since I do still take insulin. My first visit with the NUT was a nightmare. She wants to change my diet. I had been on a super strict high Protein-low carb diet. No she wants to have me eat 4 to 5 times the carbs I was eating, as well as reduce my proteins. I had been eating 1000 cal or less. She wants me to eat 1200. I am scared. I am going to start gaining weight. What if I follow the plan that I have been following as once Oct. will the Dr refuse to do my surgery do to non compliance? Will she refuse me if I am compliant but gain weight?

I Am glad you mentioned these. I have some ordered. I was planning on mixing it with. Crystal light frozen into ice cubes and run through the ninja lol. I really love slushes.

They said if all my clearances go through I should be having surgery in April as well. I have to have two visits with Nut beforehand as well. Was I. The paperwork process since late Oct. Slowed down by my decision to change wls clinics mid-stream. I have lost about 102 pounds so far, but at 450+ pounds I have plenty of weight to lose. I have been trying to follow the guidelines set out by the original place. Can't say it's been easy and I have overdone it on a few occasions, but I keep plugging away just trying to work towards my surgery date as best I can. I would love to find a surgery buddy or a mentor. Anyone out there on a similar situation? Older, short, HW 450, CW 348, and surgery coming up in April.

Living alone I plan to remove everything from my house that isn't on the liquid diet when I start that phase.

I did and still do. I had my initial consult and am now set up for the psych eval and a pulmonology as well as a PT eval because of my mobility issues. Every time I think of the what if's I remind myself of when I was 450 plus pounds and what my life was like. We are going to be going through this about the same time.

I love popsicles, I was really disappointed when I learned my beloved sugarfree, guiltfree treat has 5 carbs per popsicle. On a 20 carb diet, they are very a luxury I can't afford.
