  1. I am currently taking 10-15,000mcg of biotin per day and thankfully haven't experienced any breakouts. I also take zinc 1-2 times per week and a b complex. Both of those likely have helped with that.

This is old(er) but they do offer financing now, through a third party
  3. And if so, what did you do specifically to circumvent this? I know that a lot of people simply accept it as byproduct to loss and say that it's "just hair," but honestly, this is the one thing I'm afraid of. I currently follow a hair routine where I get absolutely no shedding. Additionally, several years ago, I went on a juice fast (via Fat, Sick, & Nearly Dead) for well over 3 months and while I lost a pretty significant amount of weight, I didn't have any issues with shedding or hair loss. I'm wondering if that'll be a precursor for me, since it's still a loss intake/calories and significant loss. I am currently taking a hair Vitamin, b complex, zinc, a multi vitamin, and Omega 3. I lose MAYBE 6 strands when I wash and detangle (I'm black and have natural hair, meaning no chemical processing and my hair is not dyed either). Any thoughts would be appreciated!
  4. Thank you Kathy!! I appreciate the comment and insight! ❤️
  5. Indeed!! Good luck with your surgery, by the way! I see that your date is coming up soon! Eek! How exciting!

Random but you and I have similar stats/goals.
  7. I'm thankful that there is, apparently, an option to "ignore user" on this forum. Good deal. Moving right along.
  8. You said you were done, yet you're back? It's crazy that you're so ignorant when it comes to this. This surgery isn't black or white. There's still always a grey area, as with anything. And in that great area lies people who have had different experiences from the "99%" that you've spoken to. No one is saying that NO ONE has loose skin or that NO ONE loses hair but I absolutely asked that people share if they WERE in that number of people who didn't have an issue with their hair (or had a minimal issue, period). You call "newbs" indignant but the truth is, that's projection. You somehow feel that your alternative facts and research is the be all end all, and if anyone questions that after you've banged your gavel, they're out of line and simply not willing to learn. But as I said earlier, feel free to move around if the "newbs" on this post bother you so much. What you won't do is bully me into believing as you do when all Im asking for are experiences. You gave your opinion already, as you know it. I asked where you got your facts from and you gave an answer that simply doesn't align with what's factual. What's so hard to get about this?
  9. So you know millions of people who have had the sleeve and this is how you were able to draw your conclusion. This still does not justify your stats, doll. And it's okay. Move around. I want to continue the discussion with people who don't mind actually discussing it rather than offering alternative facts, but getting mad when folks don't take the answer and simply go. Technically, everybody on this forum could Google to get their answers, but the forum is in place for support and getting your questions answered. Thank you
  10. Are you actually tired of people being "know it alls" or are you "tired" of the fact that people don't simply take what you say as fact and roll with it? This is a FORUM, not a dictatorship. You don't get the privilege of answering people in a rude way and not having other people question why. If someone is on the forum asking a question or reaching out to other forum members for their own experiences, it's literally because they don't have the answers and want to see if anyone else does. I'm not one who acts as though I know everything, especially in an extremely new arena such as this. But what you stated about loose skin and hair loss wasn't everyone's case. And as I said before, I am NOT denying that people don't experience shedding. But I specifically discussed being a Black woman with natural hair and wanted to find out what other people's experiences were...whether minimal, tons, or none at all. Nothing wrong with that.
  11. I'm sorry but I acted indignant? But in the next line, you said that you found some chill? Not hardly. As I mentioned before, I simply asked the forum a question, and you answered extremely 'matter of fact-ly,' when the truth is, your stats were incorrect. Alternative facts, if you will. Your INITIAL response was completely out of pocket, but I'm thankful that someone else saw how smug it was so I wouldn't be led to believe that I'm imagining things. I hope you have a great weekend.
  12. Cool. Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it! <3
  13. I'm sorry but where in my post did I say that I knew more than you do? There was no denial in anything that I said. What I did ask was how are you coming up with your statistics? When someone posts percentages on anything, onlookers DO have the right to ask where they've received their data. You specifically said 99%; I asked where and how you were able to draw such a factual conclusion. This isn't a denial. It's simply calling you on your sh*t since you offered a forum "exacts" without providing data to support your claim. And I'm not saying that it doesn't happen. But you also don't have the right to tell someone on this board with a very RATIONAL fear that they simply shouldn't' do something if they can't "deal." I wanted to know other people's solutions, and that is exactly what I asked for. Considering that I have done my own research and see that certain side effects are common, I've also seen several people who didn't experience the same side effects and if those people exist on THIS forum, THAT was who I requested information from because in MY opinion, it definitely doesn't hurt to try.
  14. Where did you get your 99% data from? Also, there have been people who didn't get loose skin (which I didn't mention), as a lot of factors come into play with that, such as how long one has been overweight, genetics, as well as activity levels pre and post surgery. I'm a newcomer to the board, but I'm not so new when it comes to issues dealing with skin. And that information you provided referencing skin is false.
  15. I'm sorry elizabethrudy! I'm still learning this board and am doing so from my phone. My apologies for that!!
  16. That's awesome! That's the stories I'm looking to hear. Just looking for the possibility. your smile is lovely by the way! You remind me of a girl I went to school with!
  17. I know that I'm a little late to the party but I joined this message board with the sole intention of finding women with natural hair to discuss hair loss. The hair loss portion has me totally rethinking the surgery all together (even though I've scheduled and paid more than 60% of the surgery cost). I have been taking a hair Vitamin as well as zinc, a Multivitamin, B complex. I'll be adding collagen to my juice in the mornings as well as a vitamin D gummy. Additionally, I have a deep conditioning routine (ayurvedic) that I follow once a week that's actually designed to prevent shedding. So I don't even shed at all when I wash or detangle. I am, however, afraid of losing my hair. Seeing you guys comments helps a little but I'm still borderline canceling my surgery because of this.?
