  1. I'd ask my Dr. He may put you on a clot preventative medicine if he knows of your travel plans
  2. I know you have to stop frequently and take a walk to prevent bloodclots. They're no joke, I've had them, and it can be life threatening. I recommend flying for a trip that far if at all possible. Even on the plane you'll need to get up and walk if it's a long flight. It's not about how quickly you heal or your threshold for pain.
  3. I've been coughing for weeks and wondered if coughing could break staples or if it'd be painful.
