Husband told people about surgery
I can truly sympathize with you. I too planned on keeping my surgery a secret. Not out of embarrassment but I don't think it's anyone's business. Plus, I'm very outspoken and didn't want anyone's opinion. I didn't want to have to hurt anyone's feelings but I knew I would have if they came to me wrong. I had another surgery four months prior to RNY so the folks at work thought my absence was related to the bathroom prior surgery. I didn't even tell them what that surgery was. I was off 3 months. About RNY. I told my mom and one sister. I have 3. I told that one because I needed her help. Well she told my aunt. My mom told my other sisters and my dad. I kept it from them the same reason I kept it from everyone else. My husband told his mother. I have no idea why but he did. I was so angry. I felt so betrayed. I felt like he told a marital secret. It really hurt me. Seven months and over a 100 lbs later I'm still angry. My mom apologized. She said she thought I told my sister's because we are really close and share ALMOST everything. My sister didn't think she did anything wrong. She was like what's the big deal. I just feel like it was personal. I don't announce I'm having my annual exam. Why would I make a big announcement about this. HW 330 SW 292 CW 193.4 GW below 200

Your weight loss progression vs others looking for similars stories
I had RNY on March 8th. The day of surgery I was 292 pounds. I'm down to 193. I was around 306 when I started pre-op diet. I lost steady except for July. I lost around 3 or 4 pounds. Then things picked back up. I only want to lose a few more pounds though. HW 330 SW 292 CW 193.4 GW below 200

Full Fat Mayo, cottage cheese, and yogurt
I currently eat full fat. I'm down over 100 pounds and 7 months out. I do try to eat it in moderation though. I eat 2 % cheese if it's around but if not I eat full fat. I try to log everything I eat and stay conscious of the amount of carbs. Other than that i eat everything full fat. HW 330 SW 292 CW 193.4 GW below 200

Disney World......My Non-scale Victoty
Thanks Oma. It was amazing. I feel so blessed. My daughter is my only child. I had her at 37. I did this for her. She deserves moments like this. At 300+ pounds. I never could have done this. HW 330 SW 292 CW 199.8 GW below 200

Disney World......My Non-scale Victoty
Yes, we had a wonderful time. I was more excited about being able to do things than actually being at Disney. I should have done this 20 years ago. I haven't been below 200 pounds since I was about 20 or 21 years old. HW 330 SW 292 CW 199.8 GW below 200

Disney World......My Non-scale Victoty
So.. I'm just getting back from a week at Disney with my four year old daughter and hubby. So cliche, but we had a Magical Time. The last time I was there was approximately 15 years ago. I weighed around 250+. Since then, I had gained about 80 pounds. Well, I had RNY on March 8, 2017. (The best decision of my life.) I've since lost over 100 pounds. Today, I'm down to 193.4 from 292 on surgery day. Anyway, back to my story. My first victory came on the plane. I was able to use the seat belt without an extender. You talk about excited. I didn't take the seat belt off even when the sign was off. I had extra room in my seat. After landing in Sanford/Orlando I thought wow, I don't have to turn sideways to get through the aisle. We then had to walk a long distance to get to Alamo rental cars. My husband was lagging behind and huffing and puffing. I could only think that would have been me just a year ago. I had to switch seats on the plane with my daughter because my husband was spilling over into my seat and not the other way around. Now to the hotel. We didn't go anywhere that day. We just rested. When I took my shower I was able to wrap a regular sized towel completely around my body without gaps and things hanging out. I must have walked around in that towel for 2 hours. Actually I did this every day. Who ever thought a towel could bring so much joy. On to Disney World......well the first day there we arrived around 10:00 AM and left about 10:00 PM. It was amazing. I was able to walk around for hours without being tired or in pain. By the end of the night I felt a little pain but nothing compared to before. My husband and daughter ate several times while we were there. I never ordered anything for myself. I knew I wasn't going to eat much. I just ate from their plates. This is a victory because #1 I saved us money and #2 Usually I would have ordered an entire meal and a sugary soda. (I haven't had a soda in 2017). I was able to do this for several days without the usual tiredness. The only thing I needed was water. The second day my husband was too tired to go back to Disney. I went right back and stayed another 8 hours. I was also able to walk around the outlet mall for hours without needing to stop and rest. I brought new bras in a 36 C. Down from a 42 DD. They were actually sexy bras. Now the rides. I remember riding things at Disney 15 years ago and not being afraid. Somehow I had convinced myself that I was afraid of rides. Before we left I told my family that I was going to ride every ride no matter how scary they were. I was going to ride just because I could fit in them. Now I know it was a fear of not being able to fit on the rides. I road several rides, even the kiddie rides with my daughter. I had room to spare. I was able to jump in and out of the rides like a little kid. It felt amazing. I made fairly decent food choices while i was there. I must admit I took a bite or two of some things I shouldn't have but I was able to stop after those bites. It didn't affect anything though. I still lost 2.6 pounds this week. Yay me. Tomorrow its back to my usual healthy living. My daughter hugged and thanked me a million times. She was able to get those tiny arms around my waist. No better feeling that that. I almost forgot I willingly took several pictures. I also wore a strapless dress and romper while there. Sorry for the long post and the rambling. I was about to bubble over. I had to tell someone.

Is this crazy?
I felt the same way. Even after surgery I had regrets. While in the holding room for surgery, I was thinking if this woman doesn't hurry up I'm getting up and going home. At 7 months out I'm wondering why I didn't do this year's ago. I spent my entire young life fat and miserable. Here I am getting dressed for work weighing 195 pounds, fitting comfortably in a size medium shirt and a size large pants. I feel amazing. It was the best decision of my life. My health has improved 200%. I can now enjoy my 4 year old like she deserves. You won't regret it. I assure you. HW 330 SW 292 CW 199.8 GW below 200

Post Surgery Tastebuds Changes: tell me yours
I now hate french fries. I loved them in the past. I also hate eggs now. I can do egg whites but not the yolk. When the yolk touches my tongue I immediately get nauseas. I never was a big sweet eater. I would eat cake if it was around. Now I have no desire to eat it. Even when my hubby brings home cup cakes I don't eat it. Premier shakes now taste horrible. My stomach can not tolerate nuts. They cause me physical pain. I no longer eat pizza or bread. I just have no interest in it. Right now nothing tastes good. I pretty much live off of cheese and chicken. HW 330 SW 292 CW 199.8 GW below 200
