  1. I was in the same situation as you! Smallest person in my family, in spite of being overweight after having our daughter. Going up and down, exercising like crazy, fad diets and always being hungry. Once I decided to have the gastric sleeve I felt the same way. I could try harder, be better, I was taking the easy way out, cheating. Oh it went round and round. But I stuck to it. I am 7 weeks out, down 30 lbs and feel great! It's still an adjustment, but I'm so glad I did it. Don't beat yourself up, what we went through is hell. I actually had three women in my "group" at the hospital tell me I didn't have any reason to do the surgery. That is only because I wasn't 300 lbs YET. Good luck! It will be great!
  2. Phew. So glad you are ok. It's tough, I know. I am seven days out. Good luck! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  3. Sitting in the San Diego airport waiting to fly home. It is definitely a whole new world. Still having burning pain in my stomach with every drink, but know that it will get better!
  4. How are you doing? I'm getting a little better each day. Still have my IV and drain port in. I think both come out tonight! I fly home tomorrow.
  5. I would find a therapist that can help you work on any issues you having that are causing the emotional eating. Yes, we should all be mindful of what we put in our mouths, but if you are having reasons other than nutrition or hunger, you must work through them. Good luck!
  6. Two days post op. That first 24 was not fun, but rapid improvement after that. Heading back in a few for the leak test!
  7. I'm checked out, got the green light. Wrist band on. Tucked in at the hotel. Catching the shuttle at 5:45 in the morning! Here we go!!!!
  8. Chris: I'm in central Washington - Ephrata.
  9. Dang - I want your surgeon. Although I'm only on three day pre-op liquid diet, but it's about four weeks before any type of regular food comes back in after the surgery! Ugh!
  10. Sorry everyone, just catching up! How is everyone doing? I started my pre-op diet today. Going fine. Mine isn't too bad. Hope everyone is okay!
  11. Thanks- any other words of wisdom? Where did you have your procedure done?
  12. March 28 - Tuesday! How's the pre-op diet going? And slimntrim - how are you doing?
  13. Good luck! Let's touch base later - okay?
  14. Being from the USA, I think we are so egotistical to think everyone else in the world is stupid and uneducated. And that is all these doctors do, I think mine does like four a day. I would think they would be pretty good at it.
  15. Sounds like a good decision! I didn't even look at insurance here. I talked to several friends that went down to Mexico and decided it was good. Really convinced me when one of my good friends who is a nurse went down to the same place I'm going and said it was awesome. Not nearly as "fancy", but very adequate, sterile and good care. My sisters are freaking out on me though.
  16. I have to do a three day liquid diet. I start on Tuesday. We fly down to San Diego on Thursday (coming from Washington state).
  17. How nervous are you? Mine comes and goes in waves. One minute I'm fine and excited, the next I'm just about sick and want to call it all off.
  18. Me too! What clinic/doctor? I am going to Green and Health Hospital in Tijuana. Dr. Almanza
  19. Yeah! Where are you going to have your procedure done?
  20. One week out - getting pretty nervous. Anyone else out there?
  21. I am also positive. And I know, logically, this surgery is very safe, but I also know that anytime you get put under that there can be complications. I've looked at both sides and decided that small risk is worth it. I've had so many friends that have had this done and don't regret it a bit. They are so much healthier! I too am headed to Tijuana. I can't imagine going through all the hoops I'm reading about here in the states and my insurance absolutely won't pay for it anyway.
  22. Are you having your surgery in the states? Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  23. I am scheduled March 31. Ok, my BIGGEST fear is something going terribly wrong and everyone thinking, all this because she was so weak she could t loose weight on her own! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
