  1. I really try not to snack. The only time I may find myself actually needing something is around 3-4 between lunch and dinner. I have an early lunch time, 11:00a.m., and find that I have issues with being too hungry if I wait until dinner at 6. I usually try to have some ff cottage cheese or some almonds on hand.
  2. I am not a July bandster, but I am an '05 one! I was banded in Oct 05 and I am down 75ish lbs. Mandy, that seems reassuring to me since our stats are pretty close! I have always felt that I was a slowish loser.
  3. I think that the charts are only a guideline to go by in determining an ideal weight. I chose a weight that I remember feeling healthy at and looking good at....according to the "charts" it is the very highest weight that will put me at a normal BMI. I also notice some people reassess their goal weight higher or lower as they get closer.
  4. That is wonderful! I am so thrilled for you! I feel like I will never get there some days..... You have really done yourself proud!!!!
  5. Lunch and dinner are about the same for me. I usually just have a protein drink for breakfast. I have read many times that it is better to have your larger meal earlier in the day, as you are more likely to burn off any extra calories.... but I just cant seem to do that, lol. I am not a breakfast eater.
  6. Hi Carol! You will love LBT! It is a great source of motivation and inspiration! Be sure to check out the Before and After picture thread, I think it is in the Discussion forum here. You have sure been through some hectic and stressful months lately! Kudos to you for maintaining and not gaining during all that. I bet a little tweak on your fill level will have you losing again in no time!
  7. I am totally happy with the band and have no regrets at all! It has much a huge difference in my health and in my appearance to finally be able to get the weight off and keep it off. I eat much healthier than I used to, and I think that also contributes to healthy and energetic I feel now.
  8. I love good eyebrows! I have to confess that I had mine cosmetically tatooed 3 years ago. I have naturally thin light eyebrows and in the summer they actually bleach to the point of the outer half being barely visible. I love the way look now. She used a very light brown and calibrated the perfect length and arch. You cant tell at all that they have the tatoos on them, it looks much the same as when I used to fill them in with a blonde brow pencil. The eyebrow hairs are still there so it just looks natural.....but no more invisible brows!
  9. How long has it been since your last fill, and do you do liquids for a day after a stuck or PBing episode? If its been over a week and you are having that many issues it seems like a tiny unfill would fix it up.
  10. I like the lounge and think it is great that we have a section for Rants & Raves. However, I click straight on New Posts 95% of the time, and have absolutely no interest in some of the "boylove, lesbian, bisexual, abortion, etc" threads that pop up. I choose to not read them, but would prefer to have a way to not see them entirely, lol. It seems like those threads tend to disappear on their own after a while anyway. After initial curiosity there arent enough people interested to keep them alive for long.
  11. I love pedicures! I do them myself more often than not. I have a cosmetic bag with all the essentials, and if DH is watching a boring movie I drag out the stuff and do my feet. I live barefoot around the house, but for work I love sandals with heels so I like to keep my feet worthy, lol!
  12. Dont get discouraged right now. If you are 2 weeks out, are you on mushie foods? You may not start really losing until you can eat healthier solids...the protein and veggies that are the basis of a recommended meal. You also may be one that has a hard time without any fill in your band. Hang in there! I know it seems impossible to have patience with it, but it will happen.
  13. You look great! I bet you feel wonderful as well! Happy Bandiversary!
  14. Let that confidence and health radiate and spill into all areas of my life!
  15. Hello from another Texan! Hope you are over the worst of the recovery symptoms by now, and welcome to LBT!
  16. Congrats! I am excited for you!
  17. I was banded in Monterrey by Dr. Sanchez (now deceased). I found the entire experience to exceed my expectations. The surgery was smooth, the hospital top notch, the recovery fine. Many of the doctors in Mexico are much more experienced with the surgery, just do your research on the doctor and facility first, and be 100% certain you have aftercare. Some U.S. docs wont provide aftercare to Mexican banded patients.
  18. You will eventually break that plateau! I was on one for about 3 months and just bounced around with the same 3-4 lbs up and down. It finally broke. I had done just about everything I could think of to break it...more calories, more exercise, less calories, etc... I dont understand how the body can lose fine and then stop, lol.
  19. I agree on the boring! What the heck are they doing with such great talent so early on in the show, and up to now.....and then pulling in Barry Gibb in one of the big final weeks? It was boring and anticlimactic.
  20. <I cant tell anymore! I flip back and forth now that it is down to the four of them. I am liking Blake more and more. At one time I thought Jordan was the weaker of the remaining, yet I think she has actually gotten better as the we get closer to the end... and it has been some time since LaKisha left me very impressed. Who do you think will go tonite?</p>
  21. I personally never feel the hunger or am diis-satisfitied. It has changed my life!!!
  22. Hang in there babe! It all gets better and better from here on out!
  23. I come to both sites, for motivation more than support. Plus if I can answer a question for a newbie (here or there!) I am happy to do so.....I dont consider myself a "nasty, bitter, creepy, throw away" though, lol. Any site will have some people that stir that pot, or are controversial, or whatever. I take what I need and ignore the rest.
  24. I've always been able to feel mine, but I think it really depends on how deep the port is. I wouldnt be concerned over it!
  25. Our town has a similar ban. The difference is that any establishment that makes more than 50% of its profit off of alcohol can have smoking. That leaves every public place, except bars, smoke free.
