I am so fortunate to have an amazing insurance plan. My total cost for the surgery will be the hospital co pay of $265. Before I switched jobs though, the surgery wasn't covered at ALL, so it would have been $25,000 out of pocket. My new job has provided me with not only great career options, but amazing health insurance and a chance at a new life.

My approval was about 1.5 weeks

I have UHC and my requirements were different except the 6 months of appointments were the same. I didn't need nutrition appointments, ultrasound, or EKG but I needed the sleep study because my neck measured more than 17.
I also had to register in UHC's bariatric program. It's very dependent on your individual insurance plan and surgeons requirement. I started in June and had surgery in Dec. It took 7 days to get my approval.

Down 102 lbs. in 11 mos.

5 months since surgery and down 104 pounds. Yay

The photo at the top left is me at my heaviest (489lbs) and the photo on the bottom right hand corner is me today at my current weight of 260lbs.

This is the first time posting any pics. I am a couple days shy of 2 mos post op. Down 46lbs.

I had surgery almost 10 months ago. Hubby is just eatting better
